Improved Mission Variance

Description
-= IMPROVED MISSION VARIANCE =-

Simple description : This mod allows you to have a wider range of how many days pass between each mission.

It allows the random component added between missions to be subtracted and added, not just added, so it creates a better middle for you to adjust.

Vanilla only supports passing the minimum time limit, then adds a random number of hours after that. This makes the missions very predictable as they will almost always occur 7 to 9 days after each other like clockwork.

-= CUSTOMIZE THE NUMBER =-

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\XCOM 2\XComGame\Config\DefaultGameData.ini
Change:
MissionSpawnVariance=X
Put the number of X HOURS (not days) between missions that can be added or subtracted. Note: It's not advised to exceed 5 days as it will overlap.

The base game has 7.22 days between missions, putting 120 in X for example would make missions spawn 2 to 12 days after the last one.

-= WHAT DO YOU USE? =-

I use a value of 96, 4 days feels like a good number. This creates a 3-11 days gap and keeps you on edge.

-= ALIEN HUNTERS COMPATIBILITY =-

100% compatible.

-= LW2 COMPATIBILITY =-
I don't care if it's technically compatible or not, I would NOT use this with LW2 for fear of breaking delicate timings. Consider this a severe BETA release for LW2.

thanks for the explanation, but by that rational everyone would be editing the Default*.ini files. I'll keep it to XComGameData.

Cheers!

This is an atrociously old deprecrated mod for XCOM 2 Vanilla so don't use it with WOTC or LWTOC.

The XCOMINI files are regenerated and automatically overwritten all the time by the Default files. Follow the instructions.

why do you specify editing DefaultGameData.ini, rather than XComGameData.ini in "..\My Games\XCOM2\XComGame\Config" ? shouldn't the the Default***.ini files truly contain the defaults, and user tweaks go in the XCom***.ini files in the user space?

I don't currently have the skill for that myself, I might know some people that do. I could suggest them if they are interested to lift it to the expansion, with the proper credits and permission of course. Still, not guarantees, as i cannot speak on others behalf. But i do wonder if that's ok with you.

Hello, is there any chance for a WOTC version of this mod? Or a similar known one like this?
