Description
A small and relatively modest base for fighters and bombers commonly found along trade routes in the asteroid belt. The Palisade Fighter Support Outpost is capable of rapidly relocating to deliver it's four fighters to conflict zones and sites of criminal activity. These outposts are usually specialised, carrying a squadron of Wasps for anti-fighter duties or a squadron of Locusts for engaging larger vessels.

While these outposts can deter small scale piracy, they are no match for a warship and should use their Jump Drives to retreat to a safe distance if engaged. However, in numbers, these relatively cheap outposts can support many small ships and their usefulness should not be underestimated.

Notes
Small grid turret collision boxes are ridiculously oversized which can lead to issues when parking and taking off with the Wasp II. You can land it ok if you are careful, but it's very tight. Until Keen get their act together and fix it, I would strongly recommend using this mod: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=647879048

I try to make all my ships suitable for use in survival, if you use my ships and find a bug/problem, let me know.

Just in case you are interested, here's the story behind this station. It was more or less completed about 6 months ago. It was originally conceived as a respawn point for a dogfighting scenario. Each player would have four fighters and when they ran out of ships/lives, they lost. I didn't really think anyone would run out of ammo as this was prior to inventory mass, the old fighters could hold tons of the stuff, so I didn't think docking was really a big concern :S Well, since scenarios were never really completed and MP is still a mess, I never took the idea any further. I fact, I forgot about all about this thing...

So fast forward a bit to last week. I'd recently released some fighters, and fighters need a support ship. My upcoming carrier is massive and so it's going to take quite a while to finish. Like Artemis, it will probably be of little use to your average survival player anyway due to it's cost, so I figured I should try to do something smaller. While I was scrolling through my BP list, I noticed this station, so I thought I'd check it out. When I did I soon realised it would not take too much updating to support the new fighters. So I modified the hangar design a little, slighty improved the looks, repainted, updated broken code and put it on the workshop as this week's release. I never expected much interest, but here we are, on the front page. Thanks for that community! Since it has been way more popular than I thought, I'll definitely be building a better station soon, with bigger hangars. :D

@Jackal2172 I think that is a very reasonable assessment of this station. I can't do anything about the crazy turrets, but I agree the hangars are small and can be frustrating if you are in a hurry. As you said, the lower connectors are easier in this scenario, but yes, they are primarily for larger ships. I will be taking this into account on future creations. Thanks for the constructive feedback. Check the description for an account of this history of this station, it explains why things are how they are.

Not trying to bag on your creation, I do like it, you just seem to be the kind of guy who appreciates honest constructive feedback, so that's what I've given.

Hope to see more from you in the future. :3

Overall very aesthetically pleasing and more importantly functional. But there a few problems, first off during meteor storms the four gatling turrets under hangers have a tendency to shoot up the bottom armor when trying to shoot down meteors, but I noticed this behaviors with other vanilla ships too, so the game itself is to blame.

Second the hangers themselves are very cramped, while they adds some protection for the fighters even trying to back in the Locust Fighter is a time consuming hassle, and that's the last thing a pilot needs to worry about, they need to get in, rearm/repair and be back towards the fight as fast as possible, and while the two connectors on the spire near the antenna could fix this in a pinch, they seem to be there to allow fleet craft to offload/onload supplies, not really for fighters.
