Goal of the game
Hello! If you're reading this guide it's probably because you really like trees or someone gave you this game (my case), and like me you arrive at the game and have no idea how it works nor how to grow some trees.

It's quite simple: you start with a tiny tree and have to grow it.

You play the game by clicking, and you can either click the branches/trunk to water the tree, or use the scissors and "delete" branches by clicking them.

Growing trees
Trees grow after each growth cycle (GC), when the small bar in the corner fills up and resets. If the bar is green, means the tree is developing by itself; if it's blue it means it's developing because you are watering it; if it's red it means the tree can't grow anymore (discussed further ahead).

Each GC thickens the tree's trunk a bit.

The first dozen GC can be easily sped up by constant watering. After a while, to grow your tree as fast as possible you need to achieve a balance between watering and leaving the game idle - the tree developing alone. The game doesn't progress while closed, you need to have it running.

Growing limits
After 30 GC or somewhere around that, if you haven't pruned your tree untill now then the growth bar becomes red, stopping your tree from growing more. You can continue the growth by pruning some branches, temporarily removing the limit. Then after a couple GC it becomes red again, and you need to prune some more, etc...

Types of trees
As of the writing of this guide, there are five types of trees available:
  • Birch Tree
  • Japanese Maple
  • Sugar Maple
  • Sycamore Tree
  • Oak Tree
Your tree type does not depend on how you trim your tree. It is randomly assigned when you create your save/tree.
Camera controls
Use the mouse wheel to zoom in or out. You can zoom in at certain parts of the tree by hovering the mouse of the desired area untill it becomes bright, and scroll, centering the screen on that area.

You can also center the screen on certain parts of the tree by right-clicking. You can't navigate the screen by using the arrow keys.

You can rotate your view by clicking and dragging the screen.

Consequences of an unpolished, memory hogging game.
