Hatoful Boyfriend : Best order to discover the story
By Niel
Short guide offering advice about the order in which unlock characters endings. There is not a defined order to do that, but getting some stories before others can unfold the scenario in a more enjoyable way.
This guide is spoiler-free. It does not contain information about how to get a particular ending.

Introduction
Hatoful Boyfriend is a dating-sim with a deeper scenario that it seems. There are secrets and mysteries to discover at St. PigeoNation.
This guide will not detail how to get a particular ending, but propose an order in which try to get the endings, so the story is discovered in a more enjoyable way. The first scenarii recommanded are the ones with less informations about St. PigeoNation mysteries, then the remaining ones are sorted in the order that I found more logical.
Each scenario gets to a different ending, so they are not following each other. The order I propose is subjective and purely optional : you can enjoy the game in any order!
Characters order guide
Some pictures are from the original version of the game, the UI is different but the artworks stay the same.

1 : Kawara Ryouta
The friend of your childhood. This is a good way to get started and attached to the characters.

2 : Shirogane Le Bel Sakuya
The arrogant aristocrat. This one has two very similar endings. One is more complete than the other, so it is a bit borring to do it if you already completed the full ending, but you can accelerate the scenes you already saw. This is the case for all the pathes with two endings.

 3 : Okosan
The feral dove. The craziest ending of the game! I advice you to save on the 8/30 since you can have two different endings from there.

4 : Nanaki Kazuaki
The sleepy mathematic teacher. This storyline is a bit heavier in terms of scenario.

5 : Koshiba Azami
The badass java sparrow lady. As Okosan, this ending is not really related to the main plot, and can be done anytime you want to explore this secondary plot. There are two endings for her.

 6: Fujishiro Nageki
The quiet mourning dove in the library.

7: Iwamine Shuu
The creepy doctor. He has two endings. Some may prefer to do Yuuya's story first, it's a matter of taste!

8: Sakazaki Yuuya
The ladykiller, and Sakuya's half brother.

9 : Higure Anghel A secret character. You have to unlock Yuuya's ending before being able to meet him. His road is a funny one. (Thanks to the people who gave me that information!)

10: ????
A secret story and ending! You can unlock it by doing Ryouta, Sakuya, Nageki, Yuuya,
and Nanaki's endings, but it is recommanded to keep it as the last path because it is the most complete story. Once it is unlocked, another choice option appears at the beginning of the game, allowing you to get this scenario. It is quite long and you may want to do it in several rows... Or not!

Just putting it out there: the secret story ALSO has two endings. The second, final, most complete one comes from 100%ing the endings, iirc: not just doing the main characters' basic endings, but their complete endings as well as the other less important characters like Azami. I would recommend doing every single ending possible before choosing the secret one, so that you only need to play the secret story once to get both its ending and final epilogue. Playing it twice would cheapen the impact - plus, it's longer than you might think. I would recommend setting aside the time to play through it in one go - it's hard to put down!

Also, this is less important but OP, you haven't mentioned the 'Bad Ending' that you get if you fail to romance any character. Not the most interesting one (easy way to get it is just to refuse any of the main boys who give you a choice at the end of their arcs), but getting it early on adds a little extra spice. :)

I got Anghel accidentally after getting Sakuya and Azami endings, going for Nageki's one.

I think Okosan's ending is the one that triggers Anghel's appearance

Sorry peeps,
but I didn't have the Yuuya ending or the Shuu ending, but I already encountered Anghel, so your guesses may be not quite right. I played the Sakuya, Okosan and Azami ending before he appeared

Thank you and sorry for that mistake! I guess I did Yuuya before him and thought it was a question of number :x

Yeah, to unlock Anghel, you don't need four endings! I was able to unlock him after doing Yuuya's route (the only route I had completed yet on this computer, minus maybe Kazuaki's).

I just wanted to mention, there is clearly more than just getting 4 different character endings to unlock Anghel. As I have followed suggested steps and I'm not presented with the option. A lot of the Internet suggest you need Shuu or Yuuya's ending first.
