Level 01 The Tomb
This game contains nothing but puzzles. It is not a horror game like the previous two Penumbra games.

Even though this game is different. It is still a fun experience! (but that's just my opinion)

Now, let's begin!

Step 1: Go to the room with the block-crusher and put a block beneath it.


Step 2: When you've smashed the block, use the pieces to get to the ladder close to the
Block-Crusher.


Step 3: Once you're up there, you will see a small pillar. You can move parts of this pillar. Move it so that you'll get 3 pyramids in a row.

Proceed to the big bridge in the next room, you can't cross it because it is up.

Step 4: Throw 2 blocks in the cage beneath the bridge


Step 5: Place a third block on one of the two pressure plates


Step 6: Stand on the second pressure plate.

ARTIFACT LOCATION

It's on a small platform above the small bridge


Use the blocks to build a tower until you can reach it!



Level 02 Residential
Now, you'll find yourself waking up again. This area can be done in two ways. I'll explain the way most people do this one on their first try. But if you want all the artifacts, you'll have to do it the special way.

The normal way

Step 1: Drop down from the platform.


Step 2: Drag the box to the other side of the room but beware of the security camera, because if you stand in the green light, the room will fill with gas.


Step 3: Place the box right in front of the door.


Step 3: Go back to the room where you got the box, and press the button. After pressing it, the Narrator will count down. Run towards the door and push the box inside. Jump inside yourself if you can.


The special way

Step 1: Use the metal beams to make a small bridge across the small platforms. Be careful, you wouldn't want to fall off and let the camera see you.


Step 2: Get to the other side


Step 3: When you enter the next room. The door will close behind you, and water will start to rise. If you haven't noticed, there are a few hidden boxes behind some parts of the walls.


Step 4: Place the boxes directly under the buttons on the ceiling.


Step 5: Wait for the water to rise!

ARTIFACT LOCATION

The artifact can be found in a vent immidiatly after exiting the room with the rising water.

Use boxes to reach this vent and enter it.

The Artifact will be on top of the monitors



After you've done one of these ways. You'll find yourself in a hallway with lasers. You obviously shouldn't touch these.
Try pushing a block to the end of this Hallway.


When you've done that, push the block on a pressure plate.


After that "puzzle" you will enter a big room with multiple moving platforms. All you have to do is jump from plaform to platform. Have fun!







Level 03 Vertical Shaft
This puzzle is a rather confusing one.

Step 1: The first thing you'll have to do is push the second (the middle one) out of the three buttons under the tube.

Step 2: Throw the Keybox up onto the plaform


Step 3: Push three crates on top of the three holes in the middle of the room.


Step 4: Active the third and second buttons on this machine


Step 5: Climb the boxes and grab the ladder.

Step 6: Once you're on the platform. Throw the Keybox into the blue laser field. These lasers are harmless to the player, you can walk right through them.


Step 7: Grab a bottle of exploding ketchup (Yes, you read that right) out of the Transtube


Step 8: Throw this bottle of ketchup at the iron chains holding the bridge up.


Step 9: The bridge will now fall down and you will be able to cross it. After crossing it you'll find that strange Keybox again, Throw a bottle of Ketchup at it.


Step 10: Pickup the ball that dropped from the Keybox and flip the switch.

Step 11: Use boxes to climb to the container that lowered itself next to the ventilation shaft. Jump on top of it and throw a bottle of ketchup at the switch.


Step 12: Jump off the container once you reach this office:

Step 13: Go inside and find an ARTIFACT inside of the drawer


Step 14: In this office, you can find a metal plate.

Try dragging it to the top of the building. And eventually you'll find use for it.

Step 15: Enter the next room and try jumping.

END OF LEVEL 3






Level 04 Sewer
The sewer part... Adored by many... Obvious Sarcasm

ARTIFACT LOCATION!
The Artifact is literally in the first room. Use an object to reach it.



Step 1: The moment you enter this place, you'll have to swim all the way to the end of this sewer, on your way there, you'll find an orb at the bottom of the sewer.


Step 2: At the end of the sewer, you'll find a switch. Flip it.

This will activate the water flow.

Step 3: Go back to the beginning of the sewer and enter the small room with a generator in it.
You'll have to put a few boxes in the capsule here. When you've put one in, flip the switch.


Step 4: The boxes will spawn at the end of the sewer. They will come towards you because of the water flow. Use the boxes as a way to jump from platform to platform.


Step 5: Continue doing this until you reach a valve. Twist this valve.


Step 6: After twisting this valve, a box has fallen from the ceiling at the place where you activated the water flow.


Step 7: Carry this box to the beginning of the sewer and place it in its holder.


Step 8: The water will now rise. Swim back to the big open room.

Step 9: Dive down and flip this switch


Step 10: When you've flipped this switch, a few platforms will start to move up. But be quick! Because after a certain time they will start to go back down.


Step 11: Pickup the last orb here and go to the exit.

END OF LEVEL 4
Level 05 Surface Station
Brrrr.... I'm not actually cold you see. I'm just trying to make you feel better.

Step 1: Enter the small shack to the right.


Step 2: Pickup one of the orbs, it's on a shelf.


Step 3: While you're there. Pickup a metal pipe and drag it to the house with the satellite dish on top of it.


Step 4: try pulling getting the generator to work.
As you can see, one of the metal plates won't come down, which stops the generator from working.
Use the metal pipe to get the two metal plates to make contact.


Step 5: Turn on the machines!

Step 6: Uh-oh, looks like you broke a fuse! Nice job, now you'll have to find another one.


Step 6: Go to the ice cave and press the 'DOOR' button.


Step 7: Go into the house with the door you just unlocked.

Step 8: Once you're in, try climbing the shelves to jump over the fence


Step 9: When you're over the fence, you'll find another fuse somewhere on the shelves. Flip the switch in the back of the room to open the gate.


Step 10: Replace the broken fuse with a new one.


Step 11: Turn on the machines again.

Step 12: Go back to where you found the new fuse and pickup this electricity box.


Step 13: Put this box on a metal plate in the shack with the computer.


Step 14: Turn on the computer and click 'Satellite Dish.exe'.

Step 15: Try sending a message.

Step 16: After sending a message, something will deliver a Keybox on the roof of this building.


Step 17: Destroy the Keybox by throwing it at the cogwheels in the machineroom.


Step 18: Now you'll want to open the hatch by pressing the 'HATCH' button. However this will cause the door in front of it to close. Try holding this door open by placing an object here so that the door won't close.


Step 19: Press the 'HATCH' button and go to the hatch.

END OF LEVEL 5

ARTIFACT LOCATION!

All you have to do is jump from the roof where you found the Keybox.
Walk in this direction:


And eventually, you will see it, in the corner of the map.






Level 06 Power Station
You might find the first puzzle quite 'Shocking'.

Step 1: Push the electric ball off it's place with an object.


Step 2: Roll the ball to the lasers. These lasers are not dangerous to the player, but they are dangerous to the ball. Try rolling the ball around it. You'll have to do this twice.


Step 3: Roll the ball in the hole at the end of the hallway.

Step 4: Head to the big tower in the middle of the area and pick up the radio.

Step 5: Head left and jump from platform to platform and make it to the other side. You can find an orb on the ground there.


Step 6: After doing that, climb into the tower directly infront of the moving platforms. Here you'll have to flip the switch.


Step 7: Head to the tower on the right. and jump across this gap and then flip the switch.


Step 8: When you have flipped this switch, you will be able to cross the bridge above you.


Step 9: Cross the bridge and walk on the glass.

Step 10: After reaching a closed gate, jump off to the side on this platform and flip the switch:


Step 11: This will open the gate. If you go back to the gate that is now open, you can pick up another key/ball. After flipping this switch, the electric ball (which was behind the closed gate) will come rolling down until it reaches another pair of gates. These gates can be opened in the right tower.


Step 12: After getting the ball through the three gates, you'll have to go back to the glass slide. When you're on this glass slide, jump of on this small metal beam.


Step 13: Climb the tower until you reach this point:

Try jumping on the platforms on the picture.

Step 14: Jump onto the glass slide and walk all the way down.

ARTIFACT LOCATION!

Do not immidiatly jump down, try jumping on this instead:


Here you will find another Artifact


Step 15: You can now jump down. If you've done every step before this one, the electric ball should be down here with you. Try rolling the ball into the Radio Tubes. After doing this, an artifact will pop out.

Step 16: Hurry back up and get out of there!

END OF LEVEL 6




Level 07 The Engine
As you enter this area, there will be lasers in front of you. Behind the lasers is the exit. In front of the lasers you can find a cogwheel. Pick it up and climb down the ladder behind you.


After you've made your way downstairs. Put the cogwheel into the mechanism. (In this picture you'll see 2 other cogwheels, I will now show you where to find them.


The second cogwheel can be found close to the mechanism. It's behind a steel pipe.


To access the third cogwheel you'll have to turn of the steam which is blocking it.
To do that, climb down another ladder and walk to the metal pistons.
Run through them until you find this ventilation shaft:


Inside of the ventilation shaft, you'll find this wheel, spin it.


Now climb out of the ventilation shaft and pick up the orb in the next room.


You can now exit this room. Climb up the ladder and return to where the steam came from.
You can now pick up the third cogwheel.


After picking up the third cogwheel and placing it in the mechanism, a blue orb will fall from a pipe. Roll this orb inside of this hole:


After doing this you will have to find 2 levers. they're somehwere around the pistons.


When you find a lever, you put it in it's holder.


Pull the levers up/down to try and roll the blue orb to the end!


After you've completed that puzzle, the lasers will be disabled and you will have access to the exit. However the exit is locked and you will have to find the keys/orbs.

What you'll have to do is walk over to this place and try jumping.


Go to the left and pick up a key/orb. When you've done that, go to the other side.
This place is a small parody of Donkey Kong. Avoid the barrels and get to the top to find another key/orb.


Now just walk back to the exit!

ARTIFACT LOCATION

Go to the ladder but do not climb down to the pistons. Instead, try to jump ON the piston building.


Here you'll find another artifact!


END OF LEVEL 7





Level 08 Steam
Once you enter this level, search for an area with two wooden cubes, you will need atleast one of these cubes to active a pressure plate. But as you can see you can't simply push a cube out of this area. That is why you need to push one of these cubes on top of another cube.

Like this:


And then, push it towards the exit and get the cube out of the room.
You will then need to push the cube on top of a pressure plate. There's another cube nearby the pressure plate room, grab that one as well and then stand on the last pressure plate yourself.



This will cause a nearby door to blow open, enter this room and push the metal box of the hatch to obtain another metal orb.



Then, pick up one of the logs on the shelf next to you and bring it back to the room where you got the cube from. Here you'll find a hatch that'll lead to an incinerator



ARTIFACT LOCATION
Once you climbed down the ladder you'll see a stack of barrels, under these barrels is another artifact



Now, put the log in the incerator, close the hatch, and pull the lever.
Now that there's fire, twist the first & second valves on the back of the incinerator. Do not twist the third!



Doing this will cause the platform at the start of the level to rise. Stand on top of it and once you reach the hallway, go straight ahead & then turn left, another metal orb will be in this room.



Now go right until you reach a safe. Enter the passcode for the safe, 6497
Take the bottle inside of it, and throw it into the hatch close to the long hallway.



Now you''ll have to run all the way back to the incinerator, turn back the second valve and turn the third valve.



This will cause the third platform to start rising, push a box on top of it and get it on top of one of the pressure plates next to the second safe. Stand on the other platform yourself!



This will open the safe, which contains another bottle. Throw it into the hatch as well.



Now take the elevator up and platform your way to the end portal!




END OF LEVEL 8
Level 09 Closure
You'll wake up in an area with a fence and a few boxes, stack these boxes and use them to climb over the fence


Then, enter the ventilation shaft


Next, you'll fall into a flooded room, do not touch the water, it is electrified.
Do not attempt to pick up the orb.

Get to the exit of this room and find this fuse box:


Remove the fuse, now you'll be able to go back and safely pick up the orb.


Now that you've picked up the orb,
Find the fuse and insert it into the third slot in the fuse box.


find the next ventilation shaft and continue onward.


In the next room, the button on your right should have a green light above it! Press the button and drag some of the boxes in the next room into the water.


Now jump from box to box and reach the other end of the puddle.

Head all the way to your right, and find the circuit board. Insert the circuit cards like this:


ARTIFACT LOCATION!

The last artifact is on top of this giant metal container, in the circuit room.


Now enter this vent, which is in the same room as the circuit board:


Pick up the nitro-glycerine container, and carry it with you.


Now, go back to the electrified puddle and go right this time.
In this room, you''ll have to insert a plug (which is on the ground) and press the big red button!


Now head back to the door in front of the electrified puddle and start platforming!
DON'T FORGET TO TAKE THE NITRO-GLYCERINE CONTAINER WITH YOU


While you're on the moving bridges you should be able to spot another orb, go get it.


If you made it to the other side, head down the stairs and put the container in front of to the pile of rocks blocking your path.


Next, look for a long rope somewhere on the ground, it should be nearby.


Pick up this rope and insert one end into the container, and put the other end in the oil on the ground. Now pull the switch and run!


Head down the stairs here and pick up the third, and last orb.


Congratulations my friend! You have finished the puzzle guide.

The next choice, is completely up to you.

Note that most levels can be shortcuted by box jumping. Jump on the box, "pick" it and while holding mouse button start jumping rapidly. You will slowly fly up. You can steer mid-air by tapping walk buttons. It's best to bind jump to some keyboard macro that will do the heavy clicking for you.

In "2 residential" it allows to skip laying steel beams. "4 Sewer" can be skipped entirely. "7 Engine" it is possible to jump over steam on cog wheel, take keys and jump back through the fence hole to get behind laser. "8 Steam" can be skipped mostly, after reaching boiler room do barrel jump to get out of it, then take barrel to the start area and do two more barrel jumps on disabled elevators.

"5 Surface Station" - there is easter egg - if you fly up too high you will be disintegrated into gold dust and teleported back to surface. Probably some generic out-of-bonds protection, but box jumping is the only way to trigger it.

Experiment and have fun breaking the game.

and in level 2 you can disable the laser in the computer on the monitors room

For level 9, I just wanted to point out that you can just throw something at the padlock on the gate and it will open.
