"The plot is that Eggman uses the Chaos Emeralds to create a portal to another dimenseon. Sonic tries to stop him but gets sucked in the portal which leads him to the Mushroom Kingdom.The portal that Eggman made is starting to teleport random things from Mario and Sonic's worlds and you have to stop him by collecting Stars and the Chaos Emeralds before the portal corrupts both worlds. The gameplay is different depending on the character. Mario characters plays like the 2D Mario games and the Sonic characters play like Sonic Rush (each character has different abilities).The Mario character will be slightly faster then usual. The game also has gameplay elements from different Mario and Sonic games like the boost or throwing veggies. Their are also some new items like the Boost Mushroom that let's you boost or gives you more if your character can already boost.
