Gear/crafting tips
1. Look for mines by walking over mountain terrain. These give ores required to craft better gear. The level of the area dictates which mines can appear.

2. There are gear shops in towns, but crafting is often better and free.

3. You can craft Daggers or Helmets (these can give more XP) to level up your blacksmithing quickly with low leather cost.

4. When your blacksmithing level is high enough to unlock a new category, you can craft the best version of the gear of the lower category, and it'll give more exp.

5. It can be better to craft lower tier gear until you can craft the best version of a higher tier. to save materials

6. For a way to get easy gear see Party tips 2.

7. If you build up a good amount of mines, leather is going to be your problem, focus on farming enemies to level up and get leather. Alternatively, running to the treasures can also net you quite a few.
Party tips
1. Get more party members as soon as you are able to, you can always dismiss them to add better ones.

2. If you are getting rid of a party member for good, you can equip them with your worst gear to get their stuff (or unequip them if you have no other gear available).

3. There is no synergy, and as all classes can learn certain moves depending on their class/weapon, making a party of the same class could be the best option since it can speed up skill leveling.

4. Make the first striking party member the master of the other party members, they'll learn and improve their skills faster. Either way, remember you should set the masters manually and press A to confirm it.

5. Dead party members don't get exp, keep them alive if possible.

6. Inactive party members don't gain exp either.
Speed up tactics
1. You can skip content (levelling by running to far away cities and hiring overleveled companions. You can do this more easily by travelling on water, that allows you to skip events that will normally kill you, and entering a town makes it a checkpoint if you get killed.

2. Fishing for quick food top-ups can be slower than hunting+gathering (depending on the area), but once you get the hang of it it can be a lot faster.

3. More party members means higher food reserves and food costs, but certain things like mining only require 1 food, so the more party members the better, asuming your cooking level is high enough. Otherwise, stick to 4.
Objective tips
1. All game modes require you to battle the final boss to complete the run, so rushing to the objective will not help as you will probably not stand a chance. See the previous section on ways to speed up runs.

2. Certain objectives require you to locate and speak to a particular individual in a town (first 2 objectives).

3. Leviathan: this boss fight pops after having 10+ of each fish type and walking over a Plain square to make a "ground-shaking" event pop. Once in the event, let the crumbling ground swallow you. To fish salmon for example go to hunt in the mountains and fish in any available water area, based on the models you can aim or prioritize fish you want, for example: green fish are bass (available almost everywhere) while salmon are greyish. To fish toss the lure and only reel it in while it is green, not when it is red (if you are color-blind aside from relying on sound cues it might be impossible for you)

4. Strongest enemy: Complete all the lvl5 Killer stats on your main character (he must deliver the final hit) then walk on plain or forest until the event pops. High level and high equipment is recommended for this fight. For the killer feats you can look at the journal to know which enemies count as what and where they are located.

5. The Chef objective can be done quickly by popping in and out a fishing stage until fishes are surrounding the platform, aim at them with the rod to fish quickly. Experience gained is based on the raw food cooked, not on the food produced so you can cook it all at once and get the same exp.

6. For easy Blacksmithing levelling without much need for leather craft daggers or helmets. Get a copper mine then use the speed up methods to jump ahead. Level up and get some better mines then craft leather equipment until you reach the copper level then craft copper items until you can craft something from whichever mines you've obtained until max skill rank.

7. You can pick the best/obvious class for each objective, but if you don't feel like it, adventurer, blacksmith or rogue, can work for all runs.

8. REWARDS: Completing a run gets you an extra Lithilium mine (the top tier metal) which runs during all future runs (too bad you still need to level smithing to be able to use it). Completing a run also gives you a new skill. Each skill can only be used once per in-game day, but they are quite valuable (ex. boost str for 2 rounds, huge damage to all enemies, etc.).

I think it's just one of the easter eggs.

any tips for an odd location called ( redneval town )?
- the whole place is hard to look at, and there are no people, only monsters.
- and there is an ( 0 treasures left ) indicator, despite it not being an "search for treasure" zone.
- if i could post a screenshot, then i would show what it looks like.
- there is no mini map.
- the only other bit of info i can piece together on it is that it was an "investigate" option in the level 20 something area directly straight down from the town you start the game at.

the reason i'm asking for tips on it is because i can't quite figure out just what to do here.

I think they weren't working or the attack ones were the only one worth using back when I played it so they didn't impact game play noticeably.

Not sure but I think there may have been quite a change in wording in the game then.
In the game, "combos" are basic attacks, where you do numerous attacks in quick succession. When over the attack button, you press up or down to choose which combo to perform. Each combo does a certain number of hits and damage, and cost a different amount of stamina.
Skills, on the other hand, are an entirely different ability. When choosing the four options to perform, they are attack, rest, items, and skills. At first you only have the flee skill, but each time you beat the game you get a different skill. For example, boost strength for two turns, boost evasion for two turns, boss mob deal damage to all, etc.

I can take a look and update the guide or add you to it if you think there's something worth adding or clarifying.

Unless the game changed, there are no combos in the game's nomenclature, it's just that skills are just a series of physical attacks (what people would call a simple combo), but I don't see where I use the word combo for you to be taking issue.
When I played it, the "skills" in the game were very simplistic, despite that you'd be expecting some unique options from a skills category, not just a different titled series of purely physical attacks...
If it's changed that's great, but I don't know about it.

In rewards, each time you beat the game, you get a new skill. Skills are different from combos. When you fight, you have four options: attack, rest, items, and skills. in skills, press up or down to select different things. At first you only have flee, but each time you beat the game you get a new one. some of them are incredibly powerful.

Not sure what you mean, but to my recollection every skill is just a physical attack "combo" with nothing special.
