Booze's Snow Texture Tweak

Description
Simple mod that modifies some of the textures on snowy maps to help remove some of the dark noisiness. Both improves the look (in my opinion) and more importantly makes battles on these surfaces more readable.

Any chance someone could port this to WH3?

says the mod is out of date, and I'm stuck in downloading. Can you please update?

So I'm guessing it's hopeless then, unless someone adds lights to the maps. Probably not something a mod can do. Thx for replying :)

It's sometihng I've noticed before, I don't think the units even have shadows? Can't remember.

I think it's a lighting thing. I think without the sun there are no shadow casting lights, so it looks very flat.

To clarify, I'm talking about the stone texture itself that the dawi use in their tunnels and structures. I don't know why they made it so flat compared to everything else. And it's like that in their cutscenes as well so it had to be intentional.

Hello Boozebeard, to start off, excellent mod!

I know this is a jump from what you did with the snow, but would you consider taking a look at the dwarven structure textures? Something is very off about how these undergound walls and buildings look. They seem to be completely flat. I don't know if this is a lighting issue or if textures/materials are also to blame. Have you noticed this? Do you think you could improve it?

update?

I don't know, it's a combo of quite a dark diffuse and quite a strong normal map where rock is showing through. I toned them both down to make this mod.
