Getting Started
To get started, you'll need to subscribe to and activate the following 2 mods:

AI Changer

Itemclass Changer

These mods allow you to change settings on your assets via the asset editor.

Once you get the hang of this process, converting growables for the RICO mod will be quick and easy.
The Asset Editor
Open the asset editor.

Click "New".

Navigate to buildings, and find the asset you with to plop with RICO.

Open it, and load the default template mesh.

Once loaded, use the dropdown menues from the mods.

Change AI to "MonumentAI". Click "Apply".

Change Itemclass to "Monument Facility"

You will get a harmless error message related to placement. Hit ok.

Next, save your asset. Give it a name, and make sure if has thumbnails. For windows users, your new asset will save in a location similar to this:

C:\Users\User\AppData\Local\Colossal Order\Cities_Skylines\Addons\Assets

Onced you've saved your converted asset, navigate back tot the main menu.
RICO Settings Panel
To add RICO settings to your newly converted asset, load a new game.

Open the RICO settings panel, and find your new asset in the monuments list.

Click "Add Local", and add whatever RICO settings you want. Click "Save" on the settings panel.

Exit back to the main menu. Any RICO settings you just assigned will be applied on your next scene load.

Load your city, and you will now see your converted RICO asset in the RICO panel! If the RICO mod is deactivated, the asset will appear as a monument.

The AI and Itemclass changer mods can be deactivated. You only need them active when you want to convert your assets via the asset edtor.

The original growable workshop asset is untouched, and will continue to grow in your cities. The ploppable version is a new copy that you've saved localy.

Your walk through is not correct. I did not see any drop down menu. How do you load the template? The only thing you can do on that screen is click on continue.

I think you should have specified that this tutorial is for people that are making buildings from scratch. I spent near an hour on it and then skipped to adding a downloaded asset to RICO directly though Rico in-game settings. After I saved I restarted the game and it worked.

Question: It says in the description that 'The original growable workshop asset is untouched, and will continue to grow in your cities. The ploppable version is a new copy that you've saved localy', while the author answers a previous comment with 'The mod converts the underlying prefab. If you want to use it as both a growable and ploppable, I would recommend that you open it in the asset editor and save a new copy with a different name'. Which is it? It seems like they won't grow as long as I've made ploppables of them, but I'm not sure.

Would this work when posting own created items to the workshop?

Thanks for this guide, but i still have a question. The building gets stats when applying the monument ai. Does it keep this stats (workers, garbage, etc.) when i switch it to residential in the settings-tab on the map-screen?

I wonder, is this still the method actual to use if you want to add vanilla growables into RICO?
I want them to contiune to grow spontaneously but also have them for plopping.

There seems to be several methods and now two mods, it's all a bit confusing. Also, I wonder if there are any incompatabilities like with building themes mod or similar.

When it asks to put a "worker/home count" number, does "home" refer to the people livinng in the building or number of households. Thanks.

Hi. If I wanted to upload a growable asset that's also rico compatible, which .crp should I Include? Both of them or just the .crp that has been converted to monument/rico? Thanks for the guide by the way.
