Below are some tips that won't spoil any specific things each website has in store for you.

• The format for a code is: # - ****, where # is the position of where the code is supposed to go (the four characters following the dash), and * denotes a character, either a letter or number.
  
• Record the time you were able to access a site (in case you have to start over).
  
• List down all the sites you were never able to access, some open very late, while others only stay open early, try checking every hour or so.
  
• Look around the entire website before interacting with anything, there may be a code listed.
  
• After looking around to no avail, begin interacting with the website.
  
• Many links in a site (not the wikis) will lead you to a dead subpage, so get ready to go back.
  
• If you hear a non-clicking sound when clicking something, check the site for anything new or your desktop for a file.
  
• If you get hacked and end up losing your digital notes, you may have to start over as the codes, possibly their locations as well, may have changed.

This site provides you the link to access the Deep Wiki II, which contains the Gatekeeper site and other sites that contain codes. There is a message that greets you and puzzles in the form of pictures/diagrams. To solve them, you have to click the image. If you chose correctly, you shouldn't hear a clicking sound. Otherwise you will hear a clicking sound and be sent to the top with everything reset (the solution should be the same, unless you're playing a new game). If you need images, I recommend checking Fragezeichen #point n' lando's guide.)

1. Row 1: You will see seven circles. From left to right, the 1st, 4th, and 7th are clickable. Click one until the circle is filled in.
   
2. Row 2: Under the message, you will see dots inside some shapes. Click one of the dots in the 6th row until the circle is filled out.
   
3. Row 3: You will see a set of waves, two full, two dotted, with a triange at the center. Click the triangle (it should be filled in).
   
4. Row 4: Look for a diamond made out of six pointed stars to the right. Click the larger hexagon like holes (not the smaller diamond like holes) until a hexagon is present.
   
5. Row 5: Look for four small but perfect circles on the right, above a horizontal graph. Click one until it is filled in.
   
6. Row 6: Look for a set of four humanoid diagrams just to the right of the middle. Click one until a box appears around it.
   
7. Row 7: In the black section, look at the bottom rightmost image, with a humanoid in the middle with orange circles around it. Click one fo the circles until it is filled out. At this point, a different sound will play and a link to the Deep Wiki II will appear.

This site provides you with the 8th code needed to access the Red Room. Found only in Deep Wiki II, you must solve all of the questions it asks using the information found from all of the non-dead sites to obtain the code. (For the answers to most of the questions, I recommend checking Ethan_Hunt-AUT's guide.)

All of the sites in this section hold the potential to have a code hidden somewhere on the page. Not all of them are available every game and roughly half are in the Deep Wiki II. If you don't see a code or doing the action below redirects you, move on for now and come back once you've exhausted all of your options.

1. Launch ANN and head to the home page and immediately head to the ChosenAwaken link.
2. Solve the puzzle ASAP and get access to the Deep Wiki II.
3. Find any early morning-sensitive (12:00 AM to 4:00 AM) websites that potentially has a code and get their codes before the end of the first day (you have up til 4:00 AM, the last time will show as 3:45 AM). This will save you some hassle with the kidnapper as you don't have to survive that long.
4. From this point on, attempt to head to the other sites you haven't gotten to yet that could have codes. When you get one, write it down and save ASAP.
5. Repeat Step 4 until you got all the codes. Save and combine the code into the address ("http://" + [Codes 1-8] + ".ann").
6. Enjoy the show. If it weren't for all of the buffering...

Easier way of winning: Save-scumming, load up a back-up for when you've lost your notes or if your friendly masked Russian-speaking kidnapper decides to take you out for some dinner.

Just a few things I've noticed or read about the kidnapper.

• The kidnapper may begin to appear after finding your first piece of code, there may be other triggers though, like getting the Deep Wiki II link.
  
• Although it is possible to get kidnapped Day 1, it seems like the odds are fairly low, so go nuts.
  
• I've noticed that I've been safe (no noises/kidnapper) until 10:45 PM.
  
• If you're using a microphone, there is an choice in the options menu for it to be used. If you talk while the kidnapper is around, he'll get you. So stay quiet or turn the option off.
  
• Similar to what happens above, if you move around while the kidnapper is around, he'll also notice that and get you. So don't move your mouse until the coast is clear.
  
• Keep your ears out for any strange noises coming from around the player and turn off the lights, one noise might be a trap though (if you react, he will come), so beware.
  
• There are noises/music that play when visiting certain websites, you will want to mute them so you can listen for the kidnapper's movements, but it may make his AI a bit stronger (unconfirmed).
  
• A notification service icon will occasionally appear on your toolbar (upper-right corner, on the very left end). If you see this, immediately turn off the lights until the coast is clear.
  
• Depending on the event, the kidnapper may linger or talk after some silence on his part, just be patient and wait a good 15 seconds (maybe longer) after each period of silence before resuming.
