In order to unlock the achievement, "What's this for?", you must complete level 12 on normal mode, thus allowing you to play it on hard mode.

Play through the level on hard mode and when you find the exit (located in the top right region of the level) be sure to not finish the level.

Beneath the exit there will be a few boxed in rooms filled with crates. Use the explosives to blow holes through the walls, thus allowing you to enter the lowest room which is completely covered with small crates.

You should notice a green orb (just like you!) inside/behind the crates. just move the crates out of the way so that you can touch the orb and you will instantly gain the achievement!
