Description
It is uncommon at best in history that a single event changes the tides of a conflict. Hades Driveyards, the spearhead of the Jovian Defense Fleet, had suffered heavy losses during the first years of the Endurance War. The advanced warships constructed by its Earth compeditor, proved to be overwhelmingly powerful in comparison to the HDY forces, and even the hit-and-run attacks conducted by the HDY FAC Squadrons could not slow Earth's production sufficiently. The Admirality soon noticed this issue, and ordered HDY to resolve the problem with maximum priority.
The result was HDY's first Battlecruiser, named "Vengeance", and it would soon be known across the entire Jovian System as a symbol of resistance. The Vengeance was armed with a total of 18 Missile Turrets and 20 Gatling Turrets along with a fixed forward battery of 4 Rocket Launchers, which put the ship in line with its ACI counterpart, the Retribution. HDY engineers also borrowed the ATLAS System that was used on the Dauntless Dreadnought, but also came up with an Active Weapon Repair System (AWeReS) that used nanotechnology to repair damaged turrets.
Upon first employment, the brand-new Vengeance Battlecruisers in conjunction with the Rifter FACs, surprised Terran commanders, who had seen the war won already. Underestimating their opponents, they engaged a large HDY fleet over the moon Himalia, where a HDY mining outpost was located. The Terran forces saw themselves outmatched by their opponents, and suffered heavy losses before calling a retreat and losing the battle that should be known as the Himalia Skirmish. This was not merely a military victory by HDY, it also was a huge morale booster amongst the Jovian Fleets. Going on the offensive, the new Vengeances were quickly mass-produced and put into active service, halting the enemy advance.
However, the new Battlecruisers could not be deployed in time to prevent the (almost) inevitable: Two months after the Himalia Skirmish, the Jovian Union surrendered. Beaten by a huge finantial crisis and civil unrests on almost all moons, the Jovian Union was disassembled just a few decades after its formation. The remaining colonies became small independent empires, each with different government ethics and ideologies. Small conflicts erupted as these micronations battled ofer thelittle ressources left using any ship they could salvage from the ruins.
Hades Driveyards was taken over by a new company, Betelgeuse Shipyards, a quickly expanding shipbuilding company that was seated in the newly colonized system of Betelgeuse. HDY retained a relatively independent position, still manufacturing warships in an effort to again reach the power it once possessed.

Oh! Well I can't say much about my (Eve) self here. I killed a NPC Sansha battleship with a 1 mil Punisher, which then died to a station camping Tornado. Other than than, not much since I am a fairly new alpha character.

Anyways, I hope my Vengeance lives up to her namesake!

Yea, I was the number one pilot of the ship in the game for like 2 years, I have an unhealthy obsession with it.

Nice! Vengeance is an AssFrig variant of the Punisher if I am not mistaken, which is my favourite friagte in Eve :)

Lol, my favorite frigate from EVE somehow works its way into this game.

Thanks! Back in the day I had little experience with the game, so I am happy that such an early build is still regarded as one's favourite. TBH I kind of miss the old design style with the wedge shape. The new vertical HDY ships are harder to make.

Still one of my favorite ships! Simple to build in survival too.
