Knot: A Collection
8 items
Description
Difficulty: Hard. Only 5 Portal surfaces. Five.

Advanced remix of Jotta's Abyss. His puzzle is completely seeded in this puzzle, step for step.

Special thanks to toncica for his generous advice and collaberative efforts. This has been a long, month-long, back-and-forth process with each version offering some small or large breakthrough. It's always a pleasure working with him on these little projects.

Compare my version of this puzzle to its sister version, Knot Again!, by toncica.

This puzzle took me more than 50 resets and 2-3 hours because of the many "make it or break it" sections where you have to perform clean maneuvers, but I loved it! A logical masterpiece that blew my mind more and more with each additional step as I progressed! Thanks for taking the time to make this amazing puzzle! By the way, it's very rare to find puzzles at this difficulty level, do you know of any more?

How are folks doing this? When I I use the raised area button (at 2:44 in the solution video) the portal (yellow outline seen at this portion in video) is cleared when the flip panel moves as a result of pressing the button. In the video it remains- as can be seen in the solution at 2:48- but for me it clears when the button is activated. What am I doing wrong?!

Awesome map, as usual. It took me pretty long to figure out the actual solution (lack of practice didn't help). Amazing how you can do such a hard map using only a few elements. Good job!

You could think that it's hard to design, but when two people embark on a long, month-long, back-and-forth process with each version offering some small or large breakthrough it becomes very easy and almost effortless. Seeing the new draft and changes the other had made to the map didn't always lead to reactions like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7rGz3E4qxhQ :D

Seeing the result, it was indeed a pleasure.

I really liked this puzzle, I agree that there is an interest in maps where you revisit and reuse the same surfaces, the interest being to think about what has changed or what have you gained compared to the last time you did that or went there. I'm not a designer but it must be harder to design than when you move from one puzzle to the next.
