Gameplay basic tips

Before you even attempt to start trying to do all these crazy speedruns, you need to know a few tips and tricks

The first thing that you may or may not know, is the speed and strength boost:
Whenever you press shift, there is a speed boost and strength boost that will activate, this does have a cooldown, so make sure you use it carefully.

The SHIFT key provides:
-SPEED BOOST - always
-JUMP BOOST - if you got more DNA than 250
-STRENGTH BOOST - if you got more than 500 DNA
(thanks dart193 for telling me)

How to climb mountains:
Whenever you climb a mountain, make sure that you aren't just running up the side, jump whenever there is a flat part on the mountain to climb a lot less and therefore speed up your time. Also always try to get a dactyl to grab you, it will help you go up the mountains like never before!

Seed codes:
Each time you do a run, there is always a seed code that changes how the terrain looks! Make sure when doing these runs, to always use the right seed for the right level!

How to climb small hills and rocks:
Make sure when you come upon a rock or small hill that could potentially slow you down, do a small jump to get over rocky bits, don't do a whole jump where you leap WAY over everything, that will majorly slow you down! Always try to keep the jumps as small as possible!

Hot dactyls:
Whenever one of those rage inducing hot dactyls starts speeding towards you, you HAVE to dodge it, if you don't there is a very large chance that it will ram you and slow you down a ton! Sometimes they even hit you multiple times completely ruining your day! Whenever one comes on screen, you have a second or two to decide how to avoid them. There are 3 main ways to avoid them. The first way is to really fast duck for half a second. This lets them fly right over you.
The second way to avoid them is to do a little hop, this lets them go right under you. The third, not so great way is to use your shift boost, this will make you immune to them for a short time.

Eating prey:
Whenever you encounter a suicidal runner that happens to run right into you, tap the down key as fast as you can, that way when it touches you, you eat it instantly, gaining the speed boost and also not slowing down from holding the key. THIS WILL TAKE PRACTICE!

Also, try to max out as many stats as you can before doing these runs, it will help A LOT!
The Speedruns
There are 24 speedruns (this may change) and we will attempt to walk you through all of them!

  1. Out to pasture
  2. Salty Flats
  3. Rainin' Lizards
  4. The Valley
  5. Dino Mountain
  6. Stego Stampede
  7. Up and Down
  8. Ptero Storm
  9. Meteor Meltdown
  10. Bombs Away
  11. Death Crater
  12. Dactyl Dodge
  13. High Rollin'
  14. Twin Peaks
  15. Minefields
  16. Dino Derby
  17. Nightfall
  18. Planet D
  19. Circus Tryouts
  20. The Hitchhiker
  21. Rampage
  22. Eggs of Doom
  23. Surfing Safari
  24. Nobody likes you

We'll start from the top of these and go towards the bottom!

First Column of speedruns
First Speedrun Column

  1. Out to Pasture
  2. Salty Flats
  3. Rainin' Lizards
  4. The Valley
  5. Dino Mountain
  6. Stego Stampede

The first speedrun is Out to Pasture:
This is basically your normal level, all it is, is a grass landscape with no special effects.
The easiest way to do this one is just make the seed code 654321, this makes the whole level mostly downhill, if you have good acceleration and speed, you can easily fly through the level.

The second speedrun is Salty Flats:
This is another pretty simple level with no real special effects. I would suggest using the seed code 654321, which will most likely make this level a LOT easier considering you will climb little to no hills and mountains.

The third is Rainin' lizards:
Most of the first column levels are relatively normal, and this one is basically the same, except with one difference, LIZARDS, tons of them actually. You don't really have to worry about this speedrun.
It is recommended to use 654321!

The Valley:
Again a very simple level where the only thing you have to worry about is the last stretch of the level where it goes uphill. Again, this is just basically a normal level, just make sure to use all the tips and tricks and use the seed 654321

Dino Mountain:
Theres not much to say, its a mountain, basically the opposite of valley. There aren't tons of extra dinos, so you don't have to worry very much! Just use the seed 654321 to get a little extra help on this one.

Stego Stampede:
This one is incredibly annoying. Its basically Out to the Pasture but with tons of stegos. They will
mess you up if you aren't careful, make sure not to doomsurf on this one, stegos will get in the way and mess up your day. Make sure to use your shift boost to kill them if you get caught behind one moving way too slow! Use the seed 654321

Already 1/4 done!
Second Column of speedruns
First Speedrun Column

  1. Up and Down
  2. Ptero Storm
  3. Meteor Meltdown
  4. Bombs away!
  5. Death crater
  6. Dactyl Dodge

Up and Down:
This one isn't TOO bad because there aren't any special problems with it, the only thing is that it is REALLY hilly. This causes the doomwall to catch up so much faster and it will destroy you if you doomsurf. Use the seed 654321!

Ptero Storm:
This is another of the easier speedruns. The good thing about this one is that you can use the dactyls to fly most of the way, the only thing you have to watch out for is hot dactyls. Just make sure you practiced avoiding hot dactyls before this one and you should be good! Use the seed 654321!

Meteor Meltdown:
This one is pretty hectic and to win it you MUST use shift boost. The meteors will get in the way and you'll get stuck, make sure you have the shift boost for those moments so you can just run straight through all of them! Use the seed 654321!

Bombs away!:
For this one there will be quite a few meteors but they will be smaller and easier to avoid than in meteor meltdown, this should be easy if you do the meteor meltdown before it and master getting through large clumps of meteors!

Death Crater:
This is arguably the HARDEST level in the game. Including insane apocalypse. This one is ridiculous. Make sure when you do this one, the seed is on 654321 and you hitch AS MANY DINO RIDES AS YOU CAN! This will be the key factor in winning, also make sure you remember your shift boost!

Dactyl Dodge:
This one isn't too hard other than the fact there are so many hot dactyls, but once you have learned how to duck and jump over them, it should be relatively easy, also make sure to remember your shift boost in case you get stuck with a hot dactyl!

Third Column of Speedruns
First Speedrun Column

  1. High Rollin
  2. Twin Peaks
  3. Minefields
  4. Dino derby
  5. Nightfall
  6. Planet D

High Rollin:
If you haven't gotten the boulder riding achievements, now is the time you probably will. This level has tons of large boulders that you can ride on for days! Make sure when you do this that if you ever get stuck by said large boulders, you have the shift boost ready to get you out of there! Use seed 654321!

Twin Peaks:
Twin peaks is basically valley but with two up hill parts and two downhill parts in a lava themed terrain! This makes it one of the easier ones since there aren't any special effects! You can basically do a normal insane run without any problems. Just make sure to have your shift boost in case something is climbing up the mountain slowly in front of you. Use seed 654321!

Minefields:
This speedrun has many large meteors that fall from the skies which makes it a little more fast paced, make sure you don't get stuck in the holes created by the meteors as they can slow you down like you would never guess! Use seed 654321!

Dino Derby:
Basically this speedrun is like out to the pasture but with tons of all the dinos. The easiest way to beat this one is to catch tons of dino rides and speed past everything. Its one of the easier ones. The only challenge is getting over the stegos. Use seed 654321!

Nightfall:
This map is basically out to the pasture but with everything being black. Basically just jump whenever you encouter something that even looks like a dino or obstacle. Its not that hard once you learn the shapes of everything. Use seed 654321!

Planet D:
If you don't have a lot of player points, this is a really good level to get some. When you do this level, if you jump off something really high up, you can basically just fly through the whole map with the low gravity! Use seed 654321!

Final column of speed runs
Final Speedrun Column

  1. Circus tryouts
  2. The Hitchhiker
  3. Rampage
  4. Eggs of doom
  5. Surfing safari
  6. Nobody likes you

Circus Tryouts:
This one is another speedrun with TONS of large boulders to boulder ride, they may get in the way but as long as you have that shift boost, they can never completely end your run single handedly. Make sure to use seed 654321!

The Hitchhiker:
This is another very easy speedrun because there are tons of dactyls, its a relatively normal level, and you can control the dactyls! This makes this another of the easiest! Seed 654321 HIGHLY recommended

Rampage:
This is one of the most fun speedruns. Basically you get infinite strength, in other words, anything you touch dies! Its also really good for farming up some player points, mostly because you can get thousands from slaughtering all the stegos! Use seed 654321!

Eggs of doom:
This one is pretty annoying but not too hard, basically what it is is whenever you get hit by a dactyl egg, it gives you the backwards bounce effect that hot dactyls give. There are also a lot more dactyls flying overhead making it hard to dodge all the eggs! Use seed 654321!

Surfing safari:
Basically this one is either super easy or super hard. It spawns you in RIGHT beside the doomwall and you basically surf the whole level, well, atleast thats whats supposed to happen. If you get a super speed boost flower, you can completely get away from the doom wall and never see it again! Use seed 654321!

Nobody likes you:
Basically what this level is, is whenever any dino touches you, lizards included, you get the hot dactyl effect, ground dinos also chase you! This can be really annoying, so make sure to jump over runners and other dinos, and use the shift boost as necessary! Use seed 654321!

ALL DONE!

I finished all the speedruns on Insane but i didn't get the Achievement. Do I need planet D do get this achievement? He was not needed by others like medium or hard speedruns
Syzygyn  [author] 5 Dec, 2019 @ 3:09pm
I've never heard of that happening! Are you absolutely sure you've completed all of them? My only guess is that one of them might be missing and you just missed it.

Also, use the seed 111000. It makes the levels INFINITELY shorter.

Idk I don't remember it doing anything other than strength boost
Glad you got it working though :steamhappy:

Nvm now it makes me red and invincible, just like you described. I guess it upgrades itself the more speedruns you've already done. Anyway thanks for the tip on the seed, it really helped me out a lot
Reijiro 12 Jul, 2016 @ 3:53pm
My shift used to make me green, but then I did something (dunno, changed hat, touched some key...) and now it makes me purple (I suspect it boosts my jump). None of those two ever gave me invincibility though, is there a way to change your shift ability?
