Quotation Hunter
Collect 12 Quotations.


Storyteller
Collect all Quotations.


There are 23 quotations in the game.
Once quotations have been picked up, they do not need to be picked up again. Even if you die immediately after.

The first quote is pretty much on the main path. Right after you get your arm, jump off the first ladder to the left.

You'll eventually come across these two hanging question marks to the left of a platform. Swing across them and jump up onto the wooden platform.

Climb up onto the next wooden platform, then climb the ladder to the top to reach the quote.

When the DOOM chases you into a small opening, you can find the quote behind the gate switch. Make sure you get it before the DOOM comes crashing in.

When you get to this point in the level and start walking to the right, a branch will fall and block the path you came from. When it has fallen, climb up it and onto the ladder.

Get off the ladder to the left.

You'll come across this wooden structure where you are supposed to pass under it to continue. Instead, climb up it to find the quote atop a pile of coal.

There is another wooden structure further along. You'll want to climb up on this one too, then up onto the cart track.

After following the track to the top, jump onto the moving wooden structure.

Jump off into the alcove containing the quote.

You will come across PRAISE. Jump on top of the word, then onto the moving platform. From there, you can jump onto the platform holding the quote.

Almost right after the previous one, the fourth quote can be found right near the GAS, on the far side of the platform. Pick it up before activating the lever.
The small area containing the quote is GAS-free, and you can survive the trip from there to the lever, then out of the GAS without needing to GASP.

After an encounter with a HATE, climb up a nearby structure and swing across two of the letters. From atop the first mine cart, jump onto the D, then swing up onto the upper wooden platform.

Following that, swing up I and A to reach the next track.

Follow the track up to the left.

Near a pool of water you must drain to continue, you will have to climb up a ladder to drop a D swing down. Jump from the first ladder onto the next, then climb up and find the quote on the left.

This one can easily be missed. Once you've solved the BLOCKADE puzzle, the portal on the right hand side will disappear and you will be able to head through to pick up the quote. Make sure you don't fall down into the elevator before picking this one up.

During the introduction to poison, you'll come across BRAVE. Immediately after, drop down past some wooden platforms.

Careful at the bottom not to fall into the pit.

After a short cutscene, you'll soon come across an elevator. Make your way to the roof of the elevator and jump off it to the left when it's at the top.

The quote is just up some stairs.

There is another elevator later on. Once you get to it, ride it up and step off to the left.

Once you use a LIE to convert an EVIL trap, push the resulting GOOD all the way down the slope to the left. It looks like there's a pit you can't cross, but you can just push it right across it.

Once you reach the LEAP OF FAITH, you must cross it without falling down as it will break when you stand on it.

Climb up the structure then cross over the flamers. This can take a few attempts. You just need to eye the patterns.

The quote is just above a gate that opens once you fall on it.

Once you pass the ROBUST that breaks to spell BUST, climb on this mushroom and swing on the letters to the left.

Once you reach the H swing, you should jump off it to the right to get the quote.

This one is during the fire escape. You will pass under a block which will fall down right after. Jump on it, then to the right to get the quote.

Once you cross the GAP near the start of this chapter, make sure you jump onto the upper path. Don't drop down until you get the quote.

You will eventually reach this room with small moving platforms. Climb up, then jump off the highest one to get the quote.

Once you reach this Wordpicker, print a RISE or RAISE and move it to the left, to this platform.

Once it reaches the top, quote is to the left.

Pull out a SPLIT here, but make sure you're ready to jump up onto the platform before it goes up. Otherwise you'll have to load the chapter. Once you're there, jump onto the ladder.

Jump off the ladder onto the moving platform then off to the right.

Before the boss fight, you'll see this area. Jump to the left and swing off the question mark.

Jump down to the quote.

Wordcrafter
Craft 30 Words.


Eloquence
Craft 100 Words.


Writer
Craft 300 Words.


This actually isn't too hard. I reckon I found more than 100 of these at the conveyor belt PRESS. If you get really stuck you can use a word unscrambler online somewhere.

Fancy
Wear a fancy HAT.


For this one, just craft the word HAT. I forgot about it till here, you can definitely get it earlier.

Don't Shoot Me
Craft a TARGET for the Shoot Machine.


Possible words here include: TARGET, PREY, MARK
On this screen, make the words RICH and LATE.

Use LIEs on both, resulting in the words POOR and EARLY.

From the new words, craft the word PREY and the achievement will unlock.

Hypocrite
Craft an evil word in the final boss fight.


In the final boss fight use an evil word. The letters that you get are randomised, but you can always spell out at least one evil word. That could be one of:
BANE, DARK, DOOM, EVIL, FEAR, GRIM, HATE, KILL

Liar
Wherever possible create a LIE.


There seem to be more than the required 6 locations available. Here are some I found.

Letter Juggle
Beat the game without using the Wordscrambler.


The hint for this one is in the title. You have to manually move each letter in order to craft the desired words. You can turn the Wordscrambler icon off in the options, but that option does not disable the action. You just have to be careful not to press Y on controller or ENTER on keyboard while next to a word.
It MAY be okay to open it and then cancel. But it is probably a good idea to refrain from opening it at all.
In the prologue you are required to use it to progress, so it's not counted against this.

Typoman
Start over and don't die ever. Okay, too hard... don't die more than 5 times!


Self-explanatory, but may be difficult. I wouldn't recommend going for this one on your first playthrough.

Minigames are accessed from the main menu. On the minigame selection screen, only the antonymizer has an achievement.

Antonymizer
Beat the antonymizer minigame.


In this minigame, you must create the specified word using LIEs to turn one word into its opposite. You get randomised letters to choose from for each word, including some letters that appear in the word, but the word itself will never appear directly in the selection.
You must complete a total of 168 words to complete the minigame. Progress can be seen on the minigame menu.

Versatile
Restart any puzzle and solve it with a different word.


You have to do this 10 times. An easy one is to interchange RAISE and RISE. COVER and SHIELD is another option. There is a full list over at this guide.

What Fire?
Escape the fire while being poisoned.


After you get forcibly poisoned by a FEAR, then chased by a DOOM, move to the right until you get past the crumbly rocks. You'll see the word FIRM all ready to be made. Instead of doing that, jump over it and continue to the right.

Right after, you will have to escape the fire. Do so while you are still poisoned from the FEAR to get this.
If you miss it, you can retry it from the 2nd last area of Chapter 2.

The Unburnt
Escape the fire without getting burnt.


This happens at the very end of Chapter 2. You have to complete it without dying. If you die during this escape, you can replay this part from the chapter select menu. It is the very last area of Chapter 2.
