Types of Zombies in Unturned
By Blunkn
This shows all the current types of zombies that can be encountered in Unturned. This is not frequently updated, so if new zombies are released, it might take a while for a guide to it to show here.

Standard Zombie
This is the first enemy you'll ever meet in this game. They stand where they are until they hear you close by, whereby they start chasing you down.

They make loud, sudden growling sounds when alerted, and soft, long growls when idle. It's easy to sneak past them, especially behind.

If you run out of the place where they originated from(eg. Zombie in a town), they will stop and return back to where they spawned.

Heavy melee blows to the head usually result in quick kills. Go for it.
Crouching Zombie
The crouching zombie is fast, but weak. They usually spawn less than normal zombies, and should not be a pain to kill, unless you're reloading or busy with something else.

One heavy melee hit to the head is often enough to finish them.
Crawling Zombie
The crawling zombie is slow, but very strong. They can be hard to spot, so look down when you're killing hordes of zombies. They also tend to spawn less than the normal zombie.

It can resist several melee blows to the head, so bring a durable and powerful weapon.
Cloaking Zombie
The cloaking zombie is often seen like a normal zombie when idle, but will immediately disappear when alerted. You can still see them though, a purple silhouette walking over to you. They will always try to attack you from behind, and will turn visible when attacking.

Bring a light if you're conducting night zombie location raids, in case this ♥♥♥♥ comes in.
Acid Zombie
This zombie is a special one, it has acid leaking out its mouth all the time, and when it's too far to attack you, they will try to spit acid at you instead. The acid is a light blue substance which will bring down your sickness and health level if you step on it.

They also play an animation when they prepare to spit on you, so watch their movements when engaging.

Not hard to spot and kill, but don't fight them in claustrophobic areas.
Fire Zombie
There's a fire zombie which exists in the game. They are always burning and glow in the dark, so they are really not hard to notice in hordes. But if you do see them, prepare yourself.

They will inflict bleeding damage on you if they attack you, and when they die, they die a fiery, gory, explosive death, causing bleeding to nearby players as well. Keep a safe distance, ask your sniper teammates to prioritize them.
Giant Zombies
Giant zombies are the bosses of the game. For ease, giant zombies will now be split into categories: Normal bosses, and power bosses. They are not usually spotted easily as they look similar to zombies from a distance, but when up close, their heights will surprise players. Scout locations before raiding, especially if you accepted a boss zombie mission from an NPC.

At least I'm pretty sure they only spawn if you accept one.
Normal Boss
This is the generic boss zombie which you can see in the game. Its height differs greatly from other zombies, and will have increased health and damage. Bring ranged weapons, or heavy armour. If you have neither, you might as well just run.

Pictures yet to be added.
Normal Boss: Lightningstrike

The Lightningstrike is an electric boss zombie, which can be easily identified by the lightning currents flowing around its body.

Its usual behaviour is that of a giant zombie's, except they have a unique ranged attack. They will send heavy electric shocks to any player almost instantaneously, dealing massive damage in short amounts of time. They also inflict bleeding damage, so bring medical supplies.

I suggest finding cover, building your own fortifications, or snipe from a distance. In close combat, they will warn you of their attack by emitting a blue glow from their hands. This time window is very short, pay attention to it and hide when necessary.
Normal Boss: Groundpounder
The Groundpounder is an earth-manipulating boss zombie. tbh its name reminds me of Killing Floor's Fleshpound. Be warned that this zombie does not display any unique physical appearance.

Its unique ability is to jump up and stomp on the ground, shaking it and sending rubble flying around. This will deal damage to every player in that radius, so stay a safe distance. Melee weapons are not sensible solutions.

White circles will appear below the Groundpounder as it jumps into the air. This indicates the area it will damage players in. As before, this window of opportunity to escape the radius is small, so ensure you have enough space to backtrack or run away from.
Normal Boss: Flamethrower
The Flamethrower boss does as its name implies. Its body is usually on fire, but don't confuse them with normal fire zombies. Try not to confuse this with normal fire zombies until it's too late.

Their unique ability is to breathe fire in a long distance for a short time, and can give you bleeding damage. I take down these guys by sniping them myself. They have next to no warning signals for their special attack, so I recommend you keep a distance at all times, and only attack it with a firearm. You can very easily escape the range of their fire, just do not fight it in cramped areas.
Power Boss: Kaiser Zombie
The Kaiser Zombie is a stronger boss zombie added with the Germany map. It is part of the Secrets of Neuschwanstein easter egg.

After using the teleporter, you will face a zombie in Imperial German Kaiser clothes.

As per all other boss zombies, the Kaiser Zombie possesses all the possible special abilities, including electricity, acid, groundpounding, and fire breathing.

After killing the Kaiser Zombie, high-end military loot will be dropped, and you can take the Zweihander sword in his castle.

Power Boss: Pirate Zombie
The pirate zombie is an overpowered boss added as part of the Mark 2 easter egg in Russia. When you complete the last part of the easter egg, you're teleported to a chamber with a giant pirate zombie which can spit acid, breathe fire, shake the ground, and shoot electric sparks.
This is by far one of the most terrifying victims of the Unturned infection, besides the new magma zombie added in the Hawaii update.

I've yet to face it, so advice is unavailable. Apologies.
Power Boss: Magma Zombie
The magma zombie is the second most horrendous spawns of the undead, added as part of the Hawaii easter egg. I've yet to face it, only heard of it, so information is lacking here.
If you wish to contribute, you can help provide information and advice on defeating it in the comments section.
Full Moons
Full Moons is Hard Mode occurring at night. On full moons, a full moon will rise, zombies will glow red in the eyes, and they usually deal more damage, faster, and are overall more terrifying. My advice is to stay somewhere safe for the night, unless you're well-equipped and are willing to take a challenge.

Some notes I found interest in was that their noises will be lower pitched. Besides being able to occasionally inflict bleeding damage, they can resist more damage than before.
