Reliance Building (Growable) Office

UPDATED CHECK NOTES

Reliance Building, completed 1895 in Chicago, Illinois, shortly after the Chicago Fire. Designed by John Root of the Burnham and Root Architectual Firm. He died before the completion, in 1891, leaving it to Chales B. Atwood to finish the project.

Often called the "Proto-Modernist," this building was the first of its kind using steel framing, also offering electricity and phone services to all of its offices. With the windows covering a majority of its exterior. Many locals feared that this building would blow over in the "Windy City." But using the new concept from the Chicago School of Architecture. This building will helped shape the future of the modern skyscraper, creating lighter, taller buildings with curtain exteriors.
