Hello and welcome to a guide on Of Kings and Men. This guide is NOT for veteran players, but rather for people who just picked up the game or people who have played a little bit. Of Kings and Men is a medieval fighting game that can have large scale battles and individual duels. You can use a variety of weapons to accomadate to your own playstyle.

The obvious question is: HOW DO I KILL MORE PEOPLE?!

Well the answer to that is complicated yet simple. The first thing you need is too remember a few things when fighting.

If you have a team (ie: playing conquest) you want to fight your enemy in a 2v1. You or your teammate can go behind the enemy and hit him in his soft, squishy rear-side. WARNING: you don't want 7 people surrounding enemy, because you will hurt each other more than him.

Don't charge, you aren't rambo, and once you get knees deep into enemy lines...well...let's just say you're pretty boned.

Defence is the best offence! If your enemy swings first and you block that attack, you are at a large advantage, for you can easily swoop in a hit or two.

Bows have very low damage, so don't expect any kills. However, if you have a good aim, you will get lots of assists. But beware the friendly fire.

Don't spam click! If you constantly bash your LMB in, your not going to be very succesful. Time your hits, and wait for your character to fully swing before even attempting to swing again.

2. Handed. Weapons. When put in the right hands, these things are MONSTERS. They can cut through people like butter. They hit hard and fast, but it takes time to master.

Flanking! When most of your team charges one way, try to get some people too follow you and go around the enemy.

Defending the flag. I can't tell you how many people I see charge after the flag has been captured. If your team fully captures the flag (but not the area) and engage in stage 2, don't push the enemy! Let them come to you.

Choke points. If there is a horde of enemies charging at you and your small group of teammates, try to find a choke point. Choke points are small, narrow paths that allow only few to fight at a time. For example, if there are 50 people on one side, and 10 people on the other side of a bridge, only 5 people from each side may be able to fight at a time. This greatly reduces the strength of the 50-man blob, as they will not be able to fight all at once.

Don't rush for the capture. If the flag is captured by the enemy or neutral, don't sprint in there and capture. If someone sees you, they are going to charge and try to kill you. This may be a surprise, but staring at a flag and...waving around or whatever the heck the capturing animation is, isn't going to block a metal weapon swinging at your body.

Pressing T wil make your character yell a battle cry

Know your enemy. If that guy over there looks like he has really good gear, maybe don't charge him.

Always face the enemy (unless you are running), for this will greatly increase your chance of not getting hit in the face with an arrow (this is obvious yet so many people turn and face their own spawn and just idle.)
