How to beat TwoHanders.
By Planey_McPlane_Face
This is all about how to beat twohand weapons, one of the most challenging things to do in the game currently. They are quite overpowered, but this guide will tell you exactly how to defeat them.

Step one
First, make sure you have some good armor. I would suggest long Rus mail, a great helm, and a gambeson. Oh and, a coat of leather plates. Don't forget the mail leggings. Next, weapons. You want a boat sword, axes aren't going to cut it. Do whatever shield you want.
Step Two
Make sure you have lots of teammates around you. These both act as cannon fodder to absorb the 2 hit kills from the twohanders, and also will be a distraction if the fight goes south. It is suggested that these teammates are high quality, either through numbers, or armor.
Step Three
Now, the last step of the preperation part. Try to find a place that is very similar to a funnel, because the instant you are fighting two guys with twohanded weapons, you are dead. You only want to fight them one by one, but if there is more than one, you would be lucky to take out one with you.
Step Four
Ok, now is the fighting part. Make sure to keep a good distance between you and the twohanded weapon bearers. Let your teammates soak up all their sword hits, and try to poke them in the back. Do not, I repeat DO NOT, attack them from the front. Let your teammates jump into that slaughterhouse. As soon as you attack them, back away, and if they try to pursue, don't try to block their weapons with your shield, they will most likely just swing through it. The only thing they won't swing through is, again, your teammates. Use them as shields.
Step 5
Now, if you are lucky, you will still have about 10% of your teammates left with you. Hopefully, those lucky hits have worn down the twohander guys you are fighting. As they slaughter the last of your team, go in for the kill, and just try and swing as fast as you can. Don't try to block them, they have the reach, just go in there for the kill.
Step Six
Now, after that large battle trying to kill them, you and the last of your teammates with you manage to finally kill a few of them. Great job. You begin to celebrate, then you take a greatsword to the back and die, and your teammates get massacred by the other twohanded swords. Because no one, I repeat no one, beats two handed swords. No one.

As a 2H user, the way to beat 2Hs is to, you know, block? Like, not rely on that flimsy shield, but instead block the first attack, avoid bashes and kicks with footwork and then use your superior attack speed to essentially stun lock us until we get a block. Honestly, I beat 2Hs with the archer axe, as well as with Sword and Board. It really isn't that difficult if you know what you're doing.

Came here expecting a joke guide mocking everyone who says 2h swords are OP but received a person who actually thinks that

Most 2H users just swing either left or right. Yeah the sword can kill you in a few hits, but they're still incredibly predictable to block in my experience.

Maybe don't just don't be bad you minge, if they're SOOO OP then why aren't you topping scoreboards with them?

Honestly if you know how to block and have some decent footwork, twohanders are no issue at all. The problem is that people who know how to play usually go twohander (directional blocking), while people who don't pick shielder and often don't understand some simple mechanics.

95% of the shielders I fight doesn't block properly and I'm clearly hitting their shield each time.

I find an arrow to the face often slows them down. Failing that. I punish them with my archers axe. Or my sword if I'm Shielding.

2h is op, but most are that predictable it feels like cheating killing them.:headbash:

"How to Beat Looters" is one of my favorite guides I've ever read and this one comes close. Nice job!

I was inspired by the "how to beat looters" guide on M&B, except for that while this was still written with a large topping of humor, its still pointing at a major issue with the game balance. It is a way of critiqueing the game with humor instead of "OMG THE DEVS ARE HORRIBLE THEIR VERY SMALL TEAM DOESN'T WANT TO WORK 24/7 FOR OUR AMUZEMENT!!"

the guide was sarcasm, because of the horribly overpowered two handed weapons, with their whole hitting you when you are behind the enemy and making shields useless with the whole side-swings don't get blocked by shields. I understand that with a lot of skill and whatnot, you can beat someone with a twohanded weapon, but still, its sad that two handed weapons can be devastating by literally just swinging right, left, right, left, right, left...

Using footwork is different from running away.
