It probably took 30 or so minutes to saw open the CFL bulb and get the right transformer terminals attached (you can get a flyback transformer from smashing up an old TV)

So im assuming what we are seeing here is the circuit is completeing itself by jumping the gap between the two electrical rods correct?

That's pretty cool, I am taking an electricity class (Like a pretty dangeous one with hot irons and shit)
I would probably found out alot about that using ohms law. and watts law.
