At first you will want to go to your barracks and select the Cleaver Falchion and the Small Round Shield, these two pieces of weapons are the starting Sword and Shield. Once you progress more of course, you will be able to unlock more as you gain XP from either killing people, losing in a duel or capturing objectives and much more!

Next you will want to go to FIGHT and select your region for example, WestNA and the mode. I recommend starting out on Duel which is one on one fighting to master the arts of fighting.

I will introduce you to my system of combat for the Shield and Sword. First off familiarize yourself with the controlls. Alright, now for the step by step process!

Step 1: Learn to swing your sword to the left and right by simpling moving your mouse either to the left or right when you attack!

Step 2: Learn to shield bash which will be a very important thing to know for when your opponent is blocking your attacks and you can't manage to hit him/her!

Step 3: Learn to block, if you don't know how well it's simple. You die.

Now that you have learned these 3 steps you are ready for to learn how to combine them to succesfully engage in combat and actually kill people!

When you are up against another person during very close combat which is face to face you will not want to do a upper or lower sword swing because the lower Sword swing is too close so it will not be able to get enough momentum and the upper Sword swing will leave your chest vulnerable.
Now when you are up against someone you will want to move alot, and I mean alot. So press W and Shift to sprint fast and move to their left and right side fast to hit them. Once you have managed that you will want to hit them with a right swing if you move to their right side or a left swing if you move to their left side. Now it doesn't need to be on their exact left or right side, just more towards the enemies right or left side. Next you will want to use a shield bash if they are very good blockers and you can't seem to get a hit on them. You will want to spam shield bash disabling the enemy to be able to attack and every now and then during a shield bash your sword will be swung from a lower position most likely leading to a successfull hit. Next as soon as that has happen you will want to engage in either a left or right swing and repeat the process. Last of all don't forget to move frequently and block so the enemy cannot hit you!
