Either way... it wouldn't spawn with a proper species, proper empire name and proper flag unless it was prescripted. Having the plantoid "Bark Republic" randomly spawn as a Fallen Empire on the planet Abydos wouldn't really achieve that Stargate feeling
Fallen Empires are being massively revamped in the next DLC though, which might break it badly. I don't know what that is going to do to mods/modding.
I also know it would have to be prescripted which means I need to either ask to borrow content from those mods (v) or else make my own equivalent, which I could do. There is no way around that though and either way it is a bit of a hassle.
Its the kind of thing I might do after I'd already made a bunch of Goa'uld systems. I could go through all of them with more or less the same code, same additional files/images etc. and convert them all with a maximum of efficency.
