Unfortunately this didn't work for me. It seems that the game runs a check to see what version of PhysX is used and it seems to re-install the old version that comes with the steam release. Tried running in almost all OS compatibilities but nothing.

Another idea - maybe load DGVoodoo (a wrapper for older DirectX games, as some have issues on newer Windows OS's) into Space Siege folder & configure that all up. See if that does the trick.

All Dungeon Siege games also have the mouse cursor issues, so...Space Siege probably has the same issue and is probably also on the Siege Engine.
