Where to find ID's
To find a mod ID is very easy.
Just to to "Steam" found in the top left corner.
Then go to "Settings"
Click the "Interface" tab
You should see "Display Steam URL address bar when availble" with a little tick box next to it. Tick the box then hit "OK"
Now go to a mod you want the ID for and you should see it in the top left corner at the end of the URL.

The ID I'm using as an example is for Auto Torches by dubCUT and it is a very good mod.

So if, let's say I play Mindustry and I downloaded it for free (which is available for anyone) but I tried to download a mod from the steam workshop and it doesn't show in my folders because there is no matching ID. What should I do if I wanted to find the mod and transfer it manually?

Only server need mod ID's. Once you have the ID's you enter them in your server config. I'm not sure where as I've never owned my own server.
