Tropical and Swamp Tileset

Description
This mod adds tropical and swamp tilesets to the game. It covers parts of Southeastern United States, South and Central America, Central Africa, North and South East Australia and South East Asia.

Tropical maps feature lots of dense vegetation with lots of trees obscuring the view, while swamp maps feature swamp terrain which doubles TU movement cost. Both tilesets contain no civilians or local forces. Additionally I have added ambient sounds to the tilesets with both tilesets having their own soundscape.

The graphics were originally made by ZZZ and TT3, converted by me to the latest version of Xenonauts: Community Edition (0.34.2) with various fixes and additions. There are 13 random maps each, for both tilesets. I hope you enjoy the mod and this couldn't have been made without the previous efforts of ZZZ, TT3, Frakel, Khall and Solver!

-REQUIRES: X:CE 0.34.2-
NOTE: This version is newer than the one included with X:CE.

For those having trouble fighting aliens on this map, have you tried the 120 degree view angle v1.1 mod? not only does it expand field of view but also equalises sight range to 20 for both aliens and player, this should make things more balanced.

Yeah I'm done with this, gameplay on these maps is simply impossible. I think the problem is that nothing on these maps other than the UFO and dropship count as HARD cover, or red cover on the indicator. Everything is yellow or green, which would normally not be a problem except that it blocks vision for me but not for the aliens. I have savescummed my way through several missions as a test and time and time again the aliens demonstrate the ability to see and shoot through multiple walls of foliage and remain visible behind "green" cover despite being just 2-3 tiles away. This is just stupid, and I can't uninstall the mod or it bricks my CE install.

I appreciate the work you put into this, but I find these maps to be utterly unplayable. My soldiers can't see the aliens at all, but the aliens have no trouble shooting through multiple walls of foliage. I eventually gave up on the mission and just ran my soldiers forward to see if the AI was cheating or not, and what I found was the AI can not only shoot through walls but has perfect map knowledge that allows them to camp in little hidey holes that render them invisible from 7/8 directions.

It gives me hard Vietnam flashbacks especially in night when aliens tear all your squad apart from unimaginable spots behind the trees like Charlies during NAM.

Figured out the problem.
It seems maps don't support modded dropships.
When using vanilla dropship it loaded well.

For some reason can't play on these
Loading bar stops at ~20% and stays like that.

The art is neat, but the aliens abuse the blindspots resulting in your xenonauts being shot by enemies you can't see in broad daylight, something that does not happen in other tilesets.

How does the whole geoscape-tileset-mask thing work?

@LimeyPolo Last I played X:CE this mod was in it.

Is this included in X:CE? Is X:CE even valid still? I love me some tropical and Pacific combat!
