Making our Tool.
So I am a bit light on images for this section so text will have to do. First things first decide what lenght you want your logs to be Theres no easy way to be precise about this but for example I used the Log trailer as my length ( because thats what I was loading. )

So to make our tool first knock down a tree, then park your trailer or what you want to use as your starting guide for the length at the THIN end of the tree. Cut the thin end of the tree to your desired length,

If done correctly you should be able to look at your newly cut thin end of the tree and be able to pick it up. If it vanished try again from the remaining tree.

With some luck and small amount of skill u can cut a thicker peice from further down the tree the key points to remember is

1. right length
2. able to pick up.

How to Use.
Using your newly made tool is quite simple.
Lay it along side a log you wish to cut taking care to line up one end of your tool with the end of the log your cutting.

Then just cut at the other end of your tool.

Move your tool, and cut again this way you dont need to get your log near the trailer before cutting it or the trailer near the log because lets be honest some times they can be hard to move around.

Thats it thanks for reading.

I just seen on the modhub today a measure tape mod just alt + right click then walk and it tells you how far It looks good and might be faster and less clumbsy than this. I will be checking it out for sure. just another option if your into mods and what not.

brilliant and much better than I was doing in fs15 haha had a buffalo in the woods where i was cutting and knew where to cut my logs based on having the crane at full extension out the back and used one of the seems between panels on the body as a visual queue and parked alongside the tree every time. was a slow/painful process but made for some good priced loads. again your version here in fs17 will work much better thank you :)

Awesome suggestion! Simple and effective. :)

I was trying to Chainsaw cut my logs to be as close as possible to the max size but as I was eyeballing it, I had a lot of variation. This will help a ton.

+1 and thumbs up. :)
