Space / Planet Surface Research Ship
All environment capable mobile base
Landing / leaving planet / Planet-side cruise WITHOUT Hydrogen!!
Full Vanilla

*Use button panel to access airlocks, the doors are turned off automatically by the timer in case of accident*

Survival Ready.
Equipped with a tiny hangar and full set of production facility.
Also features a Jump Drive.
Basically all the required features as a mobile base.

I also designed a mini miner Gnome to fit this ship's hangar.

**Maximum cargo weight is recommended to be around 500,000 kg**
Just keep your total ship weight under 4 million kg

Tips for Landing&Leaving surface

< Landing >
Face ship belly towards the ground and your good.

< Leaving surface >
Use upward thrusters(those on the bottom) to accelerate to maximum speed with inertial dampeners turned off.
When speed starts to drop, turn ship tail towards surface and keep pressing forward, make sure you are normal to surface.
Keep the ship at top speed.
The speed drop will stop after certain height, DON'T PANIC.
Keep forward button pressed, speed dropping will slow down and finally start to accelerate again.

*WARNING*
Using speed increasing mod will make leaving surface much easier.
But at the same time makes landing harder or even fail. Caution is advised.

After the success of The Druid and The Owl, T.N.N.S.F. (Tir Na Nog Science Foundation) started to design a lighter cruiser, trying to overcome the lack of planet-side cruising ability and high cost of The Druid.
But with the strike of C.L.A.N.G. (Critical Level Anomaly of Navigational Geometry) all around the galaxy, humanity's' advance all came to a halt.
With the dwindling funds and personnel, T.N.N.S.F. can no longer support the construction cost and crew member to operate The Druid, development of the new cruiser also encountered numerous failure and eventually got shut down.

T.N.N.S.F. went silent again.

Finally, recent research to defeat C.L.A.N.G. is showing brighter hopes, investment in space research starts to flow again.
With newly received funds, T.N.N.S.F. finished the once shut down cruiser project.
Symbolizing new hopes for the future, the latest light science cruiser is named ── Milesians.


I went away from space engineers for a while due to various reasons, but mostly because of the lack of stable multiplayer and playability.
And building ships needs drive and ideas, neither of them can be forced.
Recently I happened to feel like playing again, and the multiplayer netcode optimization seems to be getting some progress.
So I finished my long ago building project during the past week, of course I tried quite a few number of designs, this one is by far the most acceptable.
Personally I think The Druid II is still the prettiest ship I've ever build, but with a smaller size and more function demands, The Milesians is good enough.

This is quite an old ship.
I'll re-check if all things are still functional once I have time.

As for easy repair, this one is probably not very maintenance friendly.
I'd suggest checking out the Rutile variants.
Although Milesians is indeed the only large ship without needing to worry about Hydrogen.
But it also makes it really expensive (All the platinum need for ion thrusters)

Hi! A wonderful ship I must say. Pretty much my first large grid ship and I love it! But 1 thing really bothers me: I was shot up pretty bad by some pirates and now none of the buttons work properly. Is there an easy way to fix that?

I *LOVE* your ships and work!
This ship though old is my favorite.
You have said something about needing idea's, to build with? If I may, I would like to suggest a Milesians Upgrade/change. perhaps a swap out of the atmoshperic thrusters for hydrogen and yieldd/speed moda for the Refineries and Assemblers? Just putting this idea out there, as i feel this ship is the best.


As i said to start with, I love your work, hope to see more of it !!

I really love this ship as a research vessel,but there's no real areas to do the research in. When I play SE I like to add a few... modifications... to the ships i use, like the DLC Decor blocks, but there really isn't any room. Other than that, I love this ship and it's design! Keep up the good work, and sorry if this is kinda rambly.

Usually when I do collab projects it is in single player, and I/collaboraters send the bluebprint back and forth. I will send you the blueprint before upload, in case you are up for making edits/aesthetic improvements.

Some ships like the Milesians are quite old, hope they still work :P
Feel free to modify it for your purpose, it would be very kind of you if you could mention and link my original work in your published workshop page :)

Currently my time schedule might not allow me to spend time in working on co-op project, but you are definitely welcome to gut the ship and make your unique version!

Heya - This ship and Rutile are absolutely gorgeous. I would like to do a gut-and-replace pure pvp version of one of those two ships (or a new ship, if you wanted to corroborate). Would be vanilla, and have mix of vanilla turrets and advanced Player Made weapons; small grid turrets, small grid homing missiles, large grid torpedo, etc. All would be tied together with an advanced weapons script called Diamond Dome (DDS), which will release later today via Alysius on workshop. Sent you a friend invite - let me know if you might want to work together on a ship, or else; if you mind me gutting one of those two and using its skin ;)

Just adding that this is a b**** to build in survival due to the number of thrusters needed. This is definitely a late game blueprint due to the insane amount of gold and platinum all those engines need.

Enjoying the ride so far. Oh - and like the label says - totes vanilla! :)
