Dustbowl 64 [Map]

A simplified N64 map rendition of Dustbowl from Team Fortress 2. It was used in the "Super Scout 64" video I did back in March.


It occurs to me I've ported a lot of strange stuff this month. If you have no idea what Super Scout 64 is, you probably didn't see the video. In fact, statistically, that's probably 98% of the people viewing this page. It was a fun April Fools joke I did, creating a spoof video of an old school N64 game, redone in TF2 style. It's basically a parody of Super Mario 64, but with the Scout from TF2 as the protagonist. I've added the video here so you don't have to track it down if you want to see it.

I'd still like to revisit this concept some day. If enough interest is generated for Super Scout, I might consider taking the idea further, or doing another spoof of another game off the N64(like Legend of Zelda or Banjo Kazooie). Only time will tell.

There isn't much to say about the map, it's fairly bare bones. I dissected many a Super Mario 64 world to figure out how to piece this together. Most of the lighting had to be thrown out, and as such, this map lacks any sort of HDR or advanced cubemapping. I can't anticipate what you might encounter bug-wise.
