Introduction
This guide will show you how to get all the achievements in Risen 2: Dark Waters and DLC's.
Story related achievements
This achievements you can get by progressing through the story.
You need to beat the game twice, once with the Inquisition and once with the Natives.

Knight in Shining Armour
'Rescue Patty!' completed

He Really Exists!
'Find Steelbeard' completed

Pirate
'Become a Pirate' completed

Liberator
'Free Hawkins' completed

Tip: If you don’t have a thieving skill high enough to get the key, you can apparently blow the cell door open with a cannon or a bomb.

Harpooner
'The Titan Weapon' completed

Captain
'A New Ship' completed

Tip: Note there is a bug during the "sabotage the cannons" phase of the quest, whereby Benito will not leave his post during the night (as he is supposed to). You therefore cannot sabotage the cannons stealthily, and thus have no alternative but to beat him up (try to lure him down the forest path to his right, to avoid having the whole city attack you) and sabotage the cannons while he is down.

Bookworm
'Following Garcia's Trail' completed

Provisions Master
'Ship's Equipment' completed

Cheese knive
'The Cunning Captain' completed
Tip: There is a bug people sometimes encounter with this that makes the duel at the end of this quest line unwinnable (you can't hit him and he can't hit you). There are two workarounds for this:

1) Reload a save from the beginning of the Isle of Thieves, making sure to follow Slayne the whole way and not go exploring on your own until after the cutscene with the chest.

2) During the duel, either lure your opponent out onto the fields where there are monsters and stand next to your enemy so the monsters hit him while they're trying to hit you, or attack the townsfolk and do the same thing, so they're the ones attacking him. Make sure to have plenty of healing items. Once your opponent is defeated, you can simply run away from town until they stop chasing you (everything should be ok once you have the option to fast-travel); when you return, the townsfolk will no longer be hostile.

Tub Captain
'Build a Raft' completed

Artefact Hunter
'Steelbeard's Artefact' completed

The Hand of God
'The Greedy Captain' completed

Ghost Pirate
'The Journey to the Underworld' completed

Voodoo Pirate
'The Ancestors' Blessing' completed
Tip: Unmissable if you are on the Native/Voodoo path. Unobtainable in that playthrough if you are not.

Lord of the Tentacle
'Defeat the Kraken' completed

The Curse Is Broken!
'Kill Mara' completed

Pirate with Muskets
'Four Muskets against Crow' completed
Tip: Unmissable if you are on the Inquisition side. Unobtainable in that playthrough if you are not.
Just a little tipple...
Drank first rum
Just acquire a rum through any means and drink it.
Pet Cemetery
Killed 20 ambient animals

Whenever you see any animals (non-hostile monkeys, turkeys, rats, and tame warthogs), just kill them. Alternatively you could find one, save your game, kill it, and load without saving, then rinse and repeat.

However, do note that there have been reports that the re-loading trick may not work for this achievement. Even if it doesn't, it shouldn't present any real problem in the long run, as there are more than enough animals in the game to get the achievement naturally.
Deep Sea Fisherman
Killed 50 sea monsters

Simply kill 50 crabs, sand-devils, Sunken Ones, or Leviathans. As with any of the “kill x number of this” achievements, you could simply reload one section over and over again, though you shouldn’t need to.
Crab Catcher
Killed 10 giant crabs

Same as the other “kill x number of this” achievements, only kill 10 giant crabs. To kill them easily, you should have learned the “kick” skill from a skill trainer.

Alternatively, you could also have Patty in your party (as she has the kick skill), or Venturo (since he can just shoot them with his musket). You could also shoot them with a musket yourself, if you’re following the Inquisition path.
Beginner
Killed 10 monsters.

Refer to Big Game Hunter.
Bane of the Beasts
Killed 500 monsters.

Refer to Big Game Hunter.
Big Game Hunter
Killed 2000 monsters.

This, along with All-Rounder, is one of the two big time-consuming, grinding achievements. You have to kill 2000 monsters across all playthroughs; note you do not have to save the game, as all kills will stack. If you really want to grind this out in one location, a good place to do it is at the entrance to the Water Temple, as there are at least half a dozen enemies at the entrance, and you have your entire crew to help. Another good spot to do this is at the end boss, as she will periodically spawn anywhere from 3-10 enemies. Just don't kill her and wait for her to spawn her henchmen, then kill them.
Storyteller
Collected 10 legendary items.

Refer to Legendary Hero.
Legendary Hero
Collected 20 legendary items.

There are 20 legendary items in the game, along with one other if you have the Treasure Isle DLC. You have to get all 20 of them to get the achievement (if you have the DLC the legendary item from that counts, meaning you only need 19 from the base game).

Where to find them:

Tacarigua

1. Meerschaum pipe
Nothing too difficult here - to get the Meerschaum pipe you have to find Pete's treasure. You can learn about the buried chest from Holly [#7], a pr0stitute from Booze's tavern, if you agree to pay her 100 Gold. Dead Pete as well as the pipe are lying just outside the entrance to a large tomb [#1].
Bonus received: +1 do Firearms

2. Hand mirror
You can find the trace of the Hand mirror in a book, Pirate Raids, which lies in Jack's lighthouse [#8]. The clue points to the pirate tavern.
Head to Booze's tavern [#7] and ask the innkeeper for rum. This will open trade with him, and if you scroll down to the very bottom of the list of his products, you'll find the mirror. The price is scary, though: 2000 Gold. Unfortunately, this is the only way to obtain the artifact.
Bonus received: +10 to Silver Tongue

3. Peg leg
The artifact lies on a mountain path near a huge tomb [#1]. To find it, go through the cave [#2] near Vasco's tower [#3], then turn left and keep going forward. Several hundred meters north of the wooden bridge [#4] you'll see the entrance to a second cave [#5], the same in which the Grave Spider is lurking. Don't go inside the cave, but check out the terrain behind a large rock. The Peg leg [#6], among other items, lies right there.
Bonus received: +1 to Toughness

The Sword Coast

1. Bottle of Memories
When you arrive at the Shaganumbi village, look around for a woman named Kapua [#1]. You'll find her right of an enormous altar, between a cauldron and the leader of the village, Chani. A conversation with the Native woman will reveal that you're dealing with a powerful shaman. If you wish to join the savages, she'll teach you everything she knows about the arcanes of voodoo magic. For now, though, you'll have to do with trade only - and there's much to buy. Apart from a whole lot of alchemy ingredients and all kinds or odds and ends, the woman can also sell you a legendary item - the Bottle of Memories. If you're thinking about a carrier of a shaman, it pays to purchase it (for 2000 Gold).
Bonus received: +10 to Death Cult

2. Powder Bag
To obtain this precious item you have to complete the Cargo Crates for Miguel quest. The locations of the missing cargo are shown on the above map. Once you've collected them all, report back to the old grumbler [#1] and take your reward - the Powder bag.

Antigua

1. The left boot
The item is found on a small island off the west coast of Antigua [#1]. To reach it, pass through the port city [#2] and then turn north - to a cave which will lead you to Mac's tower [#3]. The keep should guide you to a small path running towards the shore. Here, be prepared to fight several monkeys and a Sunken One. Afterwards, get on the island and find the boot. There is a also a chest nearby, connected with The Treasure on Antigua's Western Beach quest - it's worth checking out.
Bonus received: +1 to Cunning.

2. Silver mask
This item can be received during the Gibson's Grave quest - it's the only way of finding the precious artifact. First, talk to Quinn [#1] by the port city's coast. For 300 Gold, you can buy the key to the tavern. With it, enter the tavern and open the door to a room on the first floor [#2]. Read the book inside - it will give you a lead to a treasure, which is Gibson's grave [#3]. Go to the graveyard to dig his grave out. You should find the Silver mask among other valuables.
Bonus received: +10 to Bladeproof

3. Voodoo needle
The item can be obtained without trouble - the witch Emma [#1] has it. She lives in the port city and will sell it to you for 2000 Gold. Since there's no other way of getting it, grit your teeth and pay the witch.
Bonus received: +10 to Piercing Weapons

4. Hangman's noose
A very hard to get item, requiring an advanced character. For the Hangman's noose to be obtained, you need a Monkey - a small animal you can control to get to places inaccessible to mere mortals. The skill Monkey Trainer allows you to tame the little beast (you also need Cunning at least at 6). You can learn it from any trickster (for example, Quinn [#1]) for 1000 Gold.

With the Monkey in your possession, you can now release it on the second floor of the warehouse [#2]. Guide the animal through the broken window and climb the roof until you reach a hole. Enter the attic and rummage about it. The Hangman's noose should be lying on top of one of the chests. Take it and go back to the Nameless Hero.

The Isle of Thieves

1. Parrot's Wing
Look closely at the waterfront on the beach beyond the cave in which Slayne had trapped you. In the area near the Sunken Ones you should find a message in a bottle [#1] (see: The Treasure in the Cave). Read it to discover the location of a hidden treasure chest - the Parrot's Wing is inside it. Enter the cave [#2] in which you fought the Leviathan and dig out the treasure. That's all.
Bonus received: +10 to Throwing Weapons

2. Flask
You can receive the item from the gnomes' shaman, Kaan [#1], if you complete The Gnome Eater quest. Find the mighty beast in the east part of the island [#2] and slay it. Afterwards, return to the little guy and you'll get your reward.
Bonus received: +10 to Dirty Tricks

Caldera II

1. Comb with one tooth
The artifact lies in the chest buried in the crystal cavern under the Inquisition's fortress. To get the Comb, open the baggage left of Carlos in the garrison [#1] (requires Lockpicking at 60). Take the treasure map, go down to the cave and open the chest that you'll find there [#2]. Also, be ready for a fight - you'll be attacked by several Sand Devils.
Bonus received: +1 to Blades

2. Snuffbox
Can be bought from the trader Possodino [#1], found in the upper part of the city right outside the cathedral. Unfortunately, the item costs 2000 Gold and there's no other way to obtain it that a fair trade. If you want to enjoy its benefits, get the sum and make the deal.
What's more, before you can even go to that location you need to escape the Sword Coast first and then ask Carlos [#2] to grant you access to the city of Caldera. Only then will you be allowed to reach the trader.
Bonus received: +10 to Thievery
Legendary hero - part 2
Maracai Bay

1. Skull of Death

Obtaining this artifact is a very complicated process - you can get it only if after completing the Chaka Datu's Legacy quest.

There are two ways of completing this quest, depending on which faction you've sided with while on the Sword Coast. Most of it is exactly the same - the only difference is that you serve a different master (the Native supporters will favor Zaalu, while the Inquisition members - Hakeke).

Regardless of the chosen side, the final round will always look the same - you'll need to face your rival's representative on a special arena. When the foe is down, simply report back to Datu. This is when the quest ends and you receive a reward from your patron (an amulet or a shotgun), as well as from the chieftain (legendary item - Skull of Death).
Bonus received: +1 to Voodoo

2. Cannonball
You shouldn't have any problems with obtaining this artifact. You can buy it from the storehouse master Mercutio [#1] if you complete the Storage Barrels from the Wreck quest for him, or by persuading him to trade with you (requires Silver Tongue at 65). The artifact costs 2000 Gold - there's no other way to get the Cannonball. If you don't have that kind of money, do some quests - most of them involve a certain monetary reward.
Bonus received: +10 to Shotguns

3. Jaguar paw
This artifact can be found in the temple [#1] east of the Natives' village [#2]. Kill the Termites prowling the area (not only Worker, but also Warriors). Go inside, turn left and get ready to avoid a dangerous trap - a swinging blade which will cut you in half if you fail to press Space quickly enough. If you survived, move forward and search the body of a dead pirate for the Jaguar paw. Leave the location, once again avoiding the trap.

Note! There's also a Golden mask from The Graves of the Ancestors quest in this temple. Take it and put it back on the pedestal to activate that quest.
Bonus received: +10 to Ritual

4. Broken rattle
This item can be obtained only during The Graves of the Ancestors quest - it's the reward for completing it. Here's how to do it:
Enter the temple that rises above the central part of the land [#1] and take care of three Ghouls that live there. Then, go inside the room with the Golden mask placed on the pedestal. When you try to lift it, a huge monster will appear - Yagul. The spirit will be angry at your behavior - you've just desecrated one of the holy places of the Maracai tribe. To repent for your sins, you'll need to recover three other masks and bring them back to where they belong. If you agree to do it, the quest will be triggered. Otherwise you'll have to fight Yagul and three Warriors - which basically means certain death. What's more, even if you did manage to survive, killing the monster cancels the whole quest!

Head for the temple east of the Natives' village [#2] and get rid of Termites that prowl the area (there're not only Workers, but also Warriors). After entering the temple and turning left, prepare for a meeting with a dangerous trap - a swinging blade which will cut you in half if you fail to press Space quickly enough. If you survived the trap, move forward and search the body of a pirate for the Golden mask. Place it on the pedestal near the corpse. This will close the door leading to the room on the right (there are some treasures inside, so take them before closing the door), and complete the first part of the quest. Before leaving the room with the pirate, though, take the Jaguar paw lying next to him - it's a legendary artifact. Now you can leave in peace - the trap has been disabled.

The third temple lies north-east of the Maracai village - the same place where you've met the plunderers from The Peace of the Dead quest [#3]. Eliminate the Ghoul lurking near the entrance, and jump down to the hole in the inner corridor of the building (unfortunately, you're going to have to leave your companions). Kill another Ghoul and move forward - on the crossroads you'll find a body of a pirate. It holds another Golden mask - take it and get ready to fight a Guard. He's a powerful enemy, best killed by using the Parrot and continuously jumping sideways (he's pretty slow). When you defeat him, proceed ahead and immediately dodge the swinging blade which will fall on you at the exit of the corridor (press Space). Move forward, pull the lever on the wall and kill another Ghoul. Place the Golden mask on the pedestal in the next room and leave through the newly opened gate (you'll have to jump over a hole that got you underground).

The most problematic part of the quest is its ending - the mask is found in a completely different location than where it's supposed to be placed. You can get the precious artifact from a cave in the south of the map - the same in which you've found the wall of flames [#4]. When you stand before it, turn left and take the stairs up. Kill a Grave Spider which will dig out from the ground, and then take the Mask from the table on the right. With it, go to the temple north-east of the Maracai village [#5] - you should be familiar with it thanks to The Naked Corpses quest. Go inside and put the artifact in its rightful place. Yagul will show himself to you and erase your sins. This is when the quest ends, but in order to receive the most important reward for it you also need to go to the shaman Osamu [#6]. Tell him about your achievement, and he'll give you the Broken rattle - one of the legendary items.

Bonus received: +10 to Black Magic

Isle of the Dead

1. Hook hand
This artifact can be found in a chest from The Treasure in the Tomb quest. It's found near the Arena, in the hut on the right [#1]. Reaching the place is not easy - there are several Warriors to break through and a powerful Guard and a Ghoul to face. It's a very challenging battle, so it's best to lure them out one by one and keep them at a distance (firearms work well here). After you've dealt with them and got the map, you're in for a long hike north. Enter the cave [#2] and turn left (climb the slope). Proceed forward, fighting Warriors, Ghouls and Guards. Eventually, you'll reach the spot where the chest had been buried [#3] (it's a dead end between the buildings, between the slope and the precipice). Dig it out and open the lock. The artifact is inside.
Bonus received: +10 to Slashing Weapons

2. Old coin
The artifact lies in the hall with the Altar of Transition, on a table near the entrance [#1]. It will only appear there after you've drank the Potion of false death and crossed over to the land of the dead. It may be a little hard to spot the Coin because the whole hall is basked in light - you can barely see anything in it. Approach the gate and examine the shelf to find the item. When you have it, enjoy its unusual benefits. Keep in mind, though, that you're still mortal - the artifact only reduces the damage dealt by firearms!
Bonus received: +10 to Bulletproof
Treasure Hunter
Found first treasure in the game

A treasure is only obtainable when you have a treasure map and a shovel. Once you have both, simply activate the quest on your map, and go to the location it indicates. Once there, you should see a red "X" marked on the ground. Just stand over it and start digging (there will be no prompt to do so), and you’ll dig up the treasure.
Skinflint
Acquired 1000 gold

Refer to Made of Money.
Cash Cow
Acquired 100,000 gold

Refer to Made of Money.
Made of Money
Acquired 300,000 gold

You won’t get this much gold naturally in one playthrough, but fortunately, as with all the other “get x number of this/kill x number of this” achievements, everything you get across all playthroughs stacks without you needing to save. Thus, you can get this easily by getting a good number of items in your inventory, saving in front of any vendor, selling them all your items, and then simply reloading your save and repeating the process. It does not have to be 300,000 in your inventory at one time.
Protector
Won duel against Severin

Severin is located in the main courtyard in Caldera outside the room you start the game in. When you talk to him, offer to help train his students and he’ll challenge you to a duel. Accept it and beat him. If you’re having trouble early on, you can always come back once you’ve levelled up a bit.
Digger
Dug up 50 treasures

There aren’t 50 treasures in the game, the best way to do this is to save right before you dig one up, re-load your save once you’ve dug it up, and repeat the process.
Kleptomaniac
Picked 100 locks

To pick locks you’ll need a lockpick (acquired during the “Freeing Largo” quest on Tacarigua) and enough points in your “thievery” talent to pick that particular lock. Then, find a locked chest and play the lock-picking mini-game. There are more than enough locked chests (and a few doors) to get this naturally during a single playthrough; however, you could always do the save-and-load trick used in other achievements if you want to get this out of the way.
Drunkard
Won drinking duel mini-game 10 times

The drinking duel mini-game is offered a few places, the easiest of which to find is probably from Morgan in the bar near the dock on Antingua. Simply challenge him 10 times and beat him. When going for the bottles, make sure to grab them from the middle, rather than the edges.
Tour Guide
At least 5 crew members on the ship

Simply have 5 crew members on your ship. 4 of these are unmissable; for the fifth, you’ll have to talk to Bones in Maracai Bay and get him to agree to join, unless you have either of the DLCs, which will each give you an extra crew member (though in the case of Treasure Isle, that crew member is only temporary).
All-Rounder
Learned each skill once

This, along with Big Game Hunter, is one of the two grinding achievements. To get this, you’ll have to buy every single skill in the game across all playthroughs. It is not doable in one playthrough, as to buy every skill for an attribute requires you to have level 10 in that attribute, and there is simply not enough XP in the game to do this. Also, having max Firearms and Voodoo is impossible, as the two are mutually exclusive (you can have a few skills in Voodoo if you choose Firearms, and vice-versa, but not all of them). Thus, the simplest way to get this achievement is:

Save up 61,000 glory (xp) as this is the amount required to get to level 10 in an attribute (the xp needed will be a little less if you happen to have the legendary item for an attribute).
Save up around 17,000 gold, the amount needed to buy all skills for a particular attribute.
Once you have both above steps done, save your game in a new slot. Then max out any one attribute, and proceed to buy all the skills for that attribute from the various skill trainers in the game. This done, re-load your game without saving, and move on to the next attribute.
Regular-level trainers (for level 7 and under skills) are found on almost any island. However, there is only one master-level trainer for each attribute (for level 8-10 skills). They are:

Blades - Admiral Alvarez on Antigua. Note there is a bug with him, in that he will not offer to train you any further if you have told him you have all the Titan Artifacts. The only way around this is to load a previous save. Also note that you have to finish with Slayne's questline before he will offer to train you.
Firearms - Godin in the High Council in Caldera.
Toughness - Bones (initially in Maracai Bay, later on in your crew if you offer him a position).
Toughness - Alister on the top floor of Booze's bar at the Pirates' Den on Tacarigua (not a master level trainer, but he is the only NPC who will teach you the Distiller skill).
Cunning - Flannigan at the Pirates’ Den on Tacarigua.
Voodoo - Osamu in Maracai Bay.
If you’re having trouble finding someone, you can always go into the characters section of your journal (under Logbook), and set a marker for any type of teacher. It will show you all the ones who are on the island you’re currently on.

Firearms and Voodoo are mutually exclusive. You can only max out one or the other on a single playthrough; thus, you will have to start another game to get the one you didn’t choose. Or, you could simply reload a save from before being forced to choose between the Inquisition and the Natives, and play from there.

Jaffar's Auri Culci
Kill Mara
The Water Temple
Necromancer
'The Split Soul' completed

To do this, you have to have Bones in your crew. Talk to him until he mentions something about a white scarf. Later on, while in the Underworld, you will find his other half. Simply talk to him until you get the option to mention the white scarf. Once this is done, talk to him in the real world again to complete the quest.
Friend of the Gnomes
'The Gnome Eater' completed

Talk to Kaan (the Gnomes’ chieftain) on The Isle of Thieves, and he’ll give you this quest. This boss fight is very difficult (I found it to be by far the hardest in the game), especially since the creature will eat any weapons you have equipped except the Titan Spear. The best way of doing it, then, is to climb up to the back of a tiny little ledge on the right side of the clearing (it has what appears to be the head of a fallen statue lying upside down in front of it), and keep throwing the spear at the monster. If you’re positioned correctly near the back, it shouldn’t be able to hit you, even if it climbs up the wall itself. The parrot is also apparently useful here, though I didn’t use it myself.
The Right Hand
'Chaka Datu's Legacy' completed

Talk to any of Datu, Hakeke, or Zaalu in Maracai Bay to start this. Though Hakeke and Zaalu may or may not offer the quest to you, depending on what faction you’re with. The rest of the quest is self-explanatory.
Monkey Dance
Used monkey 20 times

To get the monkey, you’ll have to have cunning at level 6, and buy the skill from Flanngan on Tacarigua. From there, simply equip the monkey, send it out, and then return it to your character. Rinse and repeat.
Seafarer
Travelled by ship 20 times

You can either get this naturally or just sail back and forth between two locations.

Detective
'Garcia's Masquerade Uncovered' completed

This quest is part of: The Hidden Valley
Note! If you begin this quest, you won't be able to complete the quests The Deserter, Angus is Dead and Angus Rescued. If you complete this quest, the following ones won't become available: Black Dog, Grave Robbers and Garcia's Ship. Try to complete them first!
There are two ways to activate this quest - the choice determines the way they're resolved. The first on involves saving Angus [#1] - if you take him back to Valdez [#2] and talk to the Inquisitor, you'll learn the true identity of Corrientes [#3] (which ends the present quest).

The second option is talking to the shaman Osamu [#4]. When you report to him after completing the The Secret Entrance quest and talking to Corrientes, the pirate's deception will come into light - which also ends the quest.
No matter which option you choose, you're going to have to deal with the deceptive pirate. You can read how to do it in the description of the Maracai Bay quest.

Rewards:
200 Glory points for completing the quest.
DLC: Treasure Isle
Alligator Jack
Killed all alligators on Treasure Isle

There are 8 alligators on the Treasure Island, which are not hard to find when you ignore all the tipps from the diary.

When you come out of the mountain go north and kill two of them. (2/8)
From the first sunken one go north, one more. (3/8)
At the twin palms go south, two more here. (5/8)
Go to the grave and pick up all maps, no alligator here.
You will also get a map of the island at the back of the grave.
Now go south from the grave. As soon as possible take the left, stay near the left wall and travel to the beach in the north-east corner, two here. (7/8)
Now go back throw the water, and stay in there, now go the next left and you will finde one more, the last one. (8/8)
Long John Silver
Set course for Treasure Isle for the first time

Once you’ve got pages 2-4 of the diary and recruited Harlok, talk to Patty and Treasure Isle will be available for you to sail to.
Grave Robber
Opened every deadly chest once

At the end of the Treasure Isle quest, there will be four chests you have to choose from. 3 of them will kill you, while the other will complete the quest. Simply save before opening any of them, and open each of them, one at a time, reloading after you die (the one on the left contains the treasure).
DLC: Air Temple
Robinson Crusoe
'The Marooned Sailor' completed

Upon arriving at the Air Temple island, you’ll come across a marooned man named Creuse. Offer to take him home to Antigua, and do so once you’ve finished your business on the island.
Templar
'The Air Temple' completed

You get this quest from Eldric on Antigua. Simply follow it to its end.
Exterminator
Killed all gargoyles and gave their eggs to Eldric

This quest is a bit buggy in that the gargoyles on the Air Temple island sometimes spawn in mid-air, or don’t spawn at all. This is problematic in that you have to kill them all. When they spawn in mid-air, you can either shoot them with a musket or throw the Titan Harpoon at them. Sometimes the bug can be fixed by simply reloading, and sometimes not. I’d advise you to save before setting foot on the island, and to save frequently in a different slot after each kill.

Once you've killed all the gargoyles on the Air Temple island, speak to Eldric on your ship and he'll tell you they've spread elsewhere across the seas. You have to then travel to each (non-DLC) island/location and talk to Eldric while in port; he will tell you whether or not there are more gargoyles/eggs in that location. Once you've killed them all and gotten their eggs, talk to him again and you should get the achievement.

For reference, there are six locations you need to visit for this. They are:

Caldera (no gargoyles to kill/eggs to collect, but you have to talk to Eldric anyway)
Isle of the Dead (ditto)
Tacarigua (some gargoyles to kill/eggs to collect)
Maracai Bay (some gargoyles to kill/eggs to collect)
Sword Coast (some gargoyles to kill/eggs to collect)
Isle of Thieves (some gargoyles to kill/eggs to collect)

Playing this in 2024, I can confirm that achievement progress resets when you close the game. An absurdly idiotic oversight by whoever programmed them. A lot of these achievements are indeed Sisyphean to grind due to this.

About the "Broken rattle" the Yagul quest, if you have Jaffar on your side during the second temple he will loot the pirate body, so if you can't find the golden mask on the pirate's body the little dude has taken it, it took me a while to realise this, i thought that the quest had a bug XD

I just came across this information and I think it should definitely be included on this guide: The grinding achievements are RESET when you close the game, so you must grind them in one session.

Are we sure we can get the grinding achievements by reloading a saved game over and over? Some of them are taking longer than expected. 100 lockpickings, for example.

Need help. I have Bones on board ship, but I can't sail to Isle of the Dead, even tho I have the Split Soul quest showing as active. I haven't finished up with Garcia on Maracai yet...is that the problem? Also, I have sailed around to some other ports (to get trainers for upgraded skills)...does that have something to do with it? I seem to remember seeing a notification when I first met Bones and got him to join me that "Patty can now sail to Isle of the Dead", or something like that. I'm wondering if screwing around sailing to other ports somehow screwed me up.
Thanks for any help you can offer.

Yup, that's why I separated DLC's from base game :v

Very good guide. However, you can't unlock all the achievements without the DLCs.
