I'd like to dedicate this guide to all the hackers who launched a kernel attack on me. Thanks for making all this possible. Anyway, this guide includes tips on The Breather, the kidnapper, Claffis and more. Every comment and rating is greatly appreciated.

V.A.P.E Hack
One new feature of the 2.0 update is the Vector Access Performance Executer V.A.P.E attack. Many people seem confused about it and put off by the fact that, compared to the other hacks, this type has the shortest amount of time available to complete it.

All you need to do is arrange the squares so that none of them are touching. The closest they can be to each other is diagonal. Sometimes it can be as simple as moving one square.

In the harder levels of the hack, some spaces may be occupied with a skull and crossbones, but you don't need to do anything differently. You can even arrange the squares all around one of these occupied spaces and as long as none of them are touching, you're good.
Claffis
DISCLAIMER: I only vaguely know how to read music, and the last time I did that was when I was like 8, so please excuse me if me if some of my terms are wrong.

Claffis is another new website, similar to Chosen Awake, in that you need it to give you a link to the Deep Wiki 3, and it can be just as frustrating and tedious. In fact, Claffis is so frustrating, that many people resort to cheating, and even recommend cheating. The most popular way to cheat is to record the sequence. Believe me, I tried to cheat too, but even that didn't really work for me. So I tried to figure out some techniques. I tried remembering the letters underneath the notes, the shapes of the symbols and the shape the whole sequence created, but none of that really worked for me.

Then I realised that in each bar, only one specific note would play, so you don't really have to remember which note plays, but which bar played its note. The first row has 3 bars and the second & third row both have five bars, however, the very last bar on the third row never plays anything (in my experience, anyway), so there are only a total of 12 bars to worry about.
The Kidnapper
There's actually nothing new about the Kidnapper in this update, but he can be a pretty confusing guy. We'll get to his friend, The Breather soon.

From day one, you'll hear various weird noises in your house and outside your window. I think the dev is trying to pull a Scott Cawthon or Toby Fox on us and is trolling (jk, Adam, ily), since he told CoryxKenshin if you hear anything, you should turn the lights off.

In my experience, the only time you should pay more attention to the noises are when you see the kidnapper's white van outside when you go to check the door, which usually happens around day 5, if you don't lose days from getting hacked. (NOTE: Contrary to popular belief, the van has nothing to do with The Breather. There are instances of him appearing when the van isn't there. Also, just think about it. Serial killers kill; kidnappers take you places.)

When the kidnapper is around, there are two things that guarantee him walking past your window. One is the infamous arrow next to the wifi symbol in the top right hand corner of the computer screen, and the other is him saying "hmmm...", accompanied by two dull thuds, like he just stepped on some leaves. In the first few days before you see the van, you'll also hear him say "hmmm...", but I've repeatedly managed to get away with keeping the lights on when this happens, so I think the two thuds along with it are the key.

When the kidnapper does walk past your window, you'll need to keep quiet (if you haven't turned the microphone setting off - it's on by default), keep still (i.e don't press the A,S or D keys, or move your mouse), and wait. Eventually the footsteps will stop, but you'll need to keep waiting until you hear the kidnapper speak again. This line translates to "there's nothing here", so you'll be safe to turn the lights back on after this.

Lastly, there is an unfortunate scenario that can happen. The Breather and the kidnapper can show up together. It's like they both sat in your back yard, smoking a joint, and the kidnapper just says "You take the door, I take the window?" Anyway, in this case, all you can do is choose who you want to get jump scared by. Also, in a small variation, The Breather can call while the kidnapper is walking past your window. When this happens, the kidnapper will get you when he hears the phone ringing. Here's what you need to do. When you turn the lights off, move your mouse to the phone before the kidnapper walks past, and if The Breather does call, answer while the phone is vibrating but not ringing, and hang up immediately, before The Breather has time to get through the first breath/word.
The Breather
Now, moving onto the kidnapper's bae friend, The Breather.

In my experience, if you don't lose days from getting hacked, The Breather begins to call between day 1 and day 5. He tends to call you several times in a row and then suddenly stops. The only time you need to start worrying about him appearing is when the phone calls stop (since he'll never be at your door during or immediately after a call). Then you'll need to start listening out for some faint sound cues. The sounds that definitely indicate The Breather are a distant bang, or a faint squeak/click - similar to the sound of him trying to get in while you're holding the door.

When The Breather does appear, there are two ways you can keep him out. You can keep holding the door shut until you stop hearing his breathing and hear him walk away, or you can check outside, romantically meet eyes with him, and then start bracing yourself as he tries to force himself in. There are pros and cons to both. The first option has a better chance of keeping The Breather out (clicks don't always register when you're bracing yourself), and the second option gets rid of The Breather faster.
Website times, code locations & 2.0.1 update
This section used to be the opening times and specfic places on pages where codes could be found, but with the 2.0.1 update, I'll just list the opening times and general places for the codes. Also, any website that isn't mentioned here doesn't work at all.

The 2.0.1 update basically lets you know if there's a code on a page or not. It seems that the develoer really wants people to figure things out for themselves, so all I'll do is give you three hints to what the cue is. It's a visual cue, it's only around for a couple of seconds, and it's blue. If you notice it, you'll probably have to a bit of pixel hunting, since the codes could be absolutely anywhere. However, good places to check are generally pictures, numbers, titles, subtitles, links and corners of the page.

Where Am I?
This update also came with acheivements. As you've probably already noticed, two of those are locked. Those two locked acheivements both correspond to two secret endings. It's pretty insane the lengths you need to go to to get these endings, but in my opinion, it definitely pays off. I won't reveal the content of the secret endings, but I'll do my best to tell you what you need to do get them.

To get this particular ending, you don't even need to open up the game. What you need to do is go to the developer's website[www.reflectstudios.com]. Then you'll need to click the right mouse button and choose "Inspect", which should be at the bottom of the menu. As you scroll down the homepage, different bits of the website's code should become highlighted, and what you need to look for is a URL ending in ".ann".

When you find that URL, you can get back into the game, and if you copy the URL from the website, you can paste it into your notes in the game, and into the search bar in the ANN browser. When put it in the search bar, you'll be met with a page that asks you "What is the pascode?". To find this out, you'll need to find the Illuminati website, which is open at around 3am, click the centre of the triangle, then type "666", and it shall reveal it.

After you enter the correct passcode, you get a page titled "COME FIND ME", along with some coordinates and six pictures. Thanks to some insanely dedicated guy, who went to the location the coordinates pinpointed, a quick Google session will tell you what was in the box the pictures showed. If you want, you can Google the coordinates yourself to see exactly where he went. Basically, in the box was a note congratulating the person who found the box, and it included another .ann URL. To get the ending, you need to copy the URL from this note, or save the picture, and put that URL into the game.

After you do this, you'll get a page asking for the red room URL, which means that you'll have to play the game as usual, get all 8 codes and enter the URL for the red room. If you manage to do this, then, you should get the secret ending.
Who Am I?
A question a lot of players end up wondering is "Why do I even want to find a red room in the first place?" or "What kind of ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up person am I playing as?". Well, this secret ending answers those questions and opens up a brand new perspective on so many levels.

Getting this ending is easier than getting the Where Am I? ending. You know how sometimes when you click a word or image, you get a note saying "1/4" or something similar? Well, if you get them all, you'll need to open them up and the 4th one will say "Don't you have a red room to find?". Then, once again you'll need to get all 8 codes, type out the URL they make, and when you're confronted with the red room page, click enter, and you should have it.
Miscellaneous Tips/Trivia
To finish off, here are some little bits and pieces that are worth mentioning, but don't really fit anywhere else in the guide.

- Write down your codes irl or take a pic of them in case you fail a hack.

- If you realise that you're gonna fail a hack, begin resetting your modem so you waste less time.

- When you start a new game, you can reset the modem before you answer/decline Adam's call, if you want to. The clock doesn't start going until you decline the call or finish the tutorial.

- Prioritise getting tracked over getting hacked. BARS. In other words, if you're getting hacked and you hear The Breather or the kidnapper, risk your notes.

- Clicking "enter" on The Pedo Handbook will result in an instant jumpscare from the kidnapper. Apparently, even evil has standards.

- In-game time does not progress while the lights are off, but it does progress while holding the door/bracing yourself.

- After the van appears and the phone calls stop, The Breather and the kidnapper can appear as often as every day.

- The only website that always guarantees a code is The Gatekeeper. You'd think Forgive Me would do that too since it'd make sense to just try and cycle through all the confessions, but I'm pretty sure you only get a certain handful of them. As soon as you start seeing the same confessions several times, it's safe to assume it doesn't have a code for you.

- I'd advise you to reset the modem whenever you find a code, but time it well if the kidnapper and The Breather are both making frequent appearances. The best time is probably right after you've gotten rid of them.

- In my opinion, the best time to get through Chosen Awake and Claffis is as soon as you start the game, within the first couple of days, if you can. Then, you'll be able to move between, all 3 wikis freely.

- You don't have to follow the rhythm of the sequence in Claffis. You can click the notes as fast or as slow as you want.

- When the kidnapper appears, I think you have around 7 seconds to turn the lights off, and when The Breather appears, you have up to 20 seconds to get to the door.

- If you really want to avoid The Breather, you could try and delay his arrival by answering his calls on the last couple of rings and letting the call play out fully.

- Ignoring The Breather's calls or hanging up quickly will only make him call more often.

- It's possible to get a code and a note for the Who Am I? ending on the same website.

- There are some really vague clues when The Breather or the kidnapper are standing right next to you and you're about to get jumpscared. No hacks will occur, and in-game time will not progress. I swear these guys are supernatural.

- Time won't progress during a hack, however, if you fail a hack, it will reset the clock to 10pm on whatever day it moved you to.

- If you love the music on Takedownman so much that you don't ever want to mute it (*cough*ME*cough*), head there to look for a code within the first few days, so you don't have to worry about the kidnapper or The Breather interrupting.

- Exiting to the main menu will move you one day forward.

- You can't turn the lights off or go to the door when you're resetting the modem, but you can still get jumpscared.

- The content of The Breather's calls are pretty meaningless, (like I said, he won't appear until he stops calling) but they could be taken as hints to how close he is to you. Calls with breathing probably mean that he hasn't even left his house yet, and calls with threats/poems might mean that he's waiting at the bus stop, or something.

- Occaisionally, The Breather only calls once. This is more likely to happen if his first call is around day 5, or if you find two or three codes within a couple of days.

- On his twitter, Adam cleared up how many codes are on each wiki. There are two on the first wiki, two on the second wiki, three on the third wiki and one that can appear anywhere.
