How to edit templates for artwork showcases
By xlxvs
So, this guide will, atleast, try to help you edit templates for your artwork showcases you downloaded.

What you'll need: Adobe After Effects & Adobe Photoshop .

This is a 13 step guide and is very detailed on what to do. I'm well aware of how long it is and i'm sorry. If you want to have a good result, stay to the end. Further more, sit back and relax while editing your template!

If you need any help, questions or trouble, comment below and I'll try to respond as soon as possible.

STEPS
1) Open up
Adobe After Effects
and open the template file

Note: You will not have some of the files within the project file, (like the background or font, I'm assuming).

Another thing is, I'm using my template. I'll leave a section to where you can find my template(s) download so you can edit the file.

2) First off, go to This Website[steam.design], make sure to sign in to your steam, after that, you can download the .zip for your background.

3) Import the background by hitting Ctrl + i or hit File > Import, and put the background over the current background. Align it to.

4) Then, find where the text layer is located.

5) THENNNN, make sure the horizontal type tool is enabled and click on the text layer, highlight the text on the preview window.

6) After that go to composition > add to render queue and a new window should pop up. If not, then I'm sorry for you?

7) You are almost done with After Effects. Click the arrow where it says (make sure you are in the render queue window) lossless find the option that says "Photoshop". Select that. You can choose another image sequences such as .tga .png .jpg, I choose the Photoshop sequence because I prefer it, you can choose another one though.

8) After you selected your format, it is time and save and get away from After Effects.

Where it says the name of the file you imported and below a drop down menu, (my drop down window says "errors only"). MAKE SURE TO CREATE A NEW FOLDER BEFORE SAVING! Then click the name of the file you imported. A save window should pop up. Simply just save the "Photoshop" sequence to where you want. Folder recommended though.

PHOTOSHOP

9) Once you are in Photoshop, go under file > open or Ctrl + o and find the .psd sequence (the file format you saved in After Effects). Click on the first of the .psd and then check the box in the left bottom cornerthat says "image sequence". Then choose your frame rate that you used in your project. I used 30 so that's what I'm going with.

10) When you hit "open", go under the window drop down and check timeline.

11) Now, go up to file > Save for web or export > save for web (legacy) depending on what version you are using.

12) This is your last step in Photoshop. After clicking the "save for web" button (NOT "SAVE AS"), you will get a pop up menu. These are the setting I use(d). Ignore the image size

13) Once your ready to save, make sure that the looping option says forever. I would personally keep the differ to 100% and lossy to around 5%. Web snap 0%, it looks quite bad and colors to 256.

Once you have saved the .gif completely, your all done with the software part. All you have to do now is upload it to steam.

Click the choose file, find the .gif, give it a name and description and check "I certify that I created this". Remember that steam will only accept no more than 10M.

I hope this guide helped you and if you have any questions, leave a comment on this guide, I'll try to get back to you as soon as possible. I will most likely always be online. Anyways thanks for making it this far, lol and have a nice day!
