SamBC uploaded one of the first mods on the Steam Workshop, Medieval Espionage. In his mod, Espionage comes a full era sooner and is compatible with every mod i have played it with.

Since nobody else has done so, i have taken the liberty of making one for the Ancient and Classical Era.

Because SamBC is the modder who made the code and all i did was change ONE WORD, i loathe to take any credit for this mod. Therefore, i would like to extend my thanks. If you appreciate this mod, please view his good work in the community.

If SamBC has a problem with me uploading these mods, i will remove them to show respect - I am only doing this because nobody else has.

This is fantastic, I use it in just about every modded playthrough. It's not terribly balanced, but I play with far slower tech rates, so those even out! :)

there needs to be a download instead of subscribe button. because trying to REDOWNLOAD everything is a pain...

oh i see i had the med. mod then i ended up not seeing it and this is the 1 i found well cool starts any era thats ok.Great mod 4 me.

but this starts the spy game at midevel era right? if si thats what i want it norm.starts in ren. Wish is the next era after medev.
Thanks for trying to explain but thats like speaking greek to a me...I really wish i could learn it and also this game is toooo LONG i always peeked quick and even got 2-4 mod to speed it up and pick it it the opions in the advance set-up menu...Just how i fell..Thanks for this mod.

This mod adds spy to each era, and there is a limit of spies per nation, which I think is 8. Going over this limit bugs the espionage screen.

Now, there is a National Wonder that gives a Spy - and England has that trait which gives one, so a mod like this is limited to giving 6 spies total (in fear of borking England).

I would suggest opening the Mod files for my mod and his (SamBC), and that will shed light on things for you, as mine was directly inspired by his. The files are easy to navigate and you might slowly find yourself opening files to change things you don't like into things you do like.


If you wanted to spy from the beginning of the game onward, you would go into the buildings/wonders files (wherever the Palaces are stored) and you would connect one spy to each Palace (just like Intelligence Agency does). But no matter how many spies you enable through modding, or how early:

Never allow more than 8 total which includes England and Intelligence Agency.
