Leveling the Perfect Item (Item World Guide)

Use this guide if you aren't sure where to begin when using the item world, or as a reference when perfecting your r40 in the IW!

Required
  • Around 35 Mr. Gency exits (You'll be exiting the dungeon every few floors to try and acquire the correct bonus room)
  • A rank 40 item (I'll list all of them later in the guide)
  • Lots of lvl 10+ thieves (Cheese bosses/enemies with poison/sleep and for stealing)
  • 8 of the specialist (unfused) for the stat you wish to boost (I'll list what each specialist does later)
  • Tink
  • Character(s) that can move enemies (triple strike, tiger charge) Let's call them the Mover(s).
Optional
  • Accelerators for Tink and the Mover(s), preferably with 5 movement each
  • Character powerful enough to kill the IG2 (IG2 can't be poisoned, but you can still cheese him with damage panels)
  • A life
Specialists
These are all of the Specialists that will actually matter. The rest either don't increase stats as high or don't raise stats at all.
  • Dietician: Increases HP
  • Master: Increases SP
  • Gladiator: Increases ATK
  • Sentry:Increases DEF
  • Tutor: Increases INT
  • Physician: Increases RES
  • Marksman: Increases HIT
  • Coach: Increases SPD

You'll need about 8 of a single type of Specialist for the greatest stat increase per level
Bonus Rooms and Leveling Spheres
There are only 2 rooms you need to worry about:
Fortune Teller (Geomancer tells your items "fortune")
Ambush (Kill 7 enemies in 2 turns to raise item level)

The Fortune Teller can give 1 of 4 fortunes:
Great Luck: +10 item levels
Good Luck: +3 item levels
Bad Luck: -3 item levels

Thanks to Spire™ for telling me about this:

If you talk to the fortune teller 4 times, he'll fight you. If you kill him (which is really easy) you'll get an extra 3 levels on your item!
So for great luck, you'll get 13, and good luck is 6!

Obviously, you'll want Great or Good Luck if you ever want to reach level 200 on your item

An Ambush gives your item 3 levels when completed.
If you're going through the item at a low level, these won't really work out.
(If you're lucky, you can be ambushed by prinnies, in which case you can just throw them all to win)

Leveling spheres spawn randomly in the IW after floor 21
To use them, simply clear the floor while holding the sphere with another character
They add 5 levels to your item, but I wouldn't rely on these too much since they're heavily RNG dependent. Just get them whenever they just so happen to come by.

...but if you do find one, take it to the next floor, gency out, and save. If you need to choose between a sphere and a gate, take the sphere.

You can get everything in any order you want and at any time. As long as you have 200 levels by floor 100, the stats will be the same any way.
R39 and R40 Items
In order to get a R40, you'll need a legendary R39, which you can get through stage bonuses or from stealing in the IW.
You'll need the Land of Carnage unlocked in order to get a R40 item, as it will only appear on the IG2 of a R39 (You need to steal it from a level 9999 you can't put to sleep basically)

The Steps
BEFORE YOU START!
Enter the first floor of the item until an innocent appears. Kill it and return to base with a Gency. Do this until all of the unsubdued innocents are subdued. You should have a level 0 item with no specialists. Fill every open slot with your desired specialist (gladiators for ATT, marksmen for HIT, etc)
You'll also want a Mystery Gate on floor one, so reset until one appears. If there isn't any after a few resets, enter another item's world clear a few floors, then exit and re-enter the R40. Repeat until you get a Mystery Gate on the 1st floor of the R40.

Double Killing
Double killing is when you kill an item boss twice, it's quite simple. Enter the boss floor (10, 20, 30, etc), kill the boss, then gency out. Enter the item again, kill the boss again and continue to the next floor.

Innocent Town
After a boss floor, you have a chance of entering one of these. It's required you enter on floors 10, 20 and 30 to perfect an item. There is a chance a chicken will spawn that will take you to the item's dark assembly to further raise stats. After the 3rd visit to the IT dark assembly, the chicken NPC that lets you pass bills will no longer spawn.



NOW THEN...

Starting from floor 1...
  1. Reset until you get the correct Mystery Gate.
  2. Complete the Mystery Gate.
  3. Go to floor 3.
  4. Gency out.
  5. Save.
  6. Reset until you get the correct Mystery Gate on floor 4.
  7. Complete the Mystery Gate.
  8. Go to floor 6
  9. Gency out.
  10. Save.
  11. Reset until you get the correct Mystery Gate on floor 7.
  12. Complete the Mystery Gate.
  13. Enter floor 10 and kill the boss.
  14. Gency out.
  15. Save.
  16. Kill the boss again.
  17. Use the exit portal.
  18. Reset until you get an Innocent Town with a Dark Assembly.
  19. Pass the bill of your choice
  20. Return to town.
  21. Save.
  22. Reset until you get the correct Mystery Gate.
  23. Complete the Mystery Gate.
  24. Go to floor 13.
  25. Gency out.
  26. Save.
  27. Reset until you get the correct Mystery Gate on floor 14.
  28. Complete the Mystery Gate.
  29. Go to floor 16.
  30. Gency out.
  31. Save.
  32. Reset until you get the correct Mystery Gate on floor 17.
  33. Complete the Mystery Gate.
  34. Enter floor 20 and kill the boss.
  35. Gency out.
  36. Save.
  37. Kill the boss again.
  38. Use the exit portal.
  39. Reset until you get an Innocent Town with a Dark Assembly.
  40. Pass the bill of your choice
  41. Return to town.
  42. Save.
  43. Reset until you get the correct Mystery Gate.
  44. Complete the Mystery Gate.
  45. Go to floor 23.
  46. Gency out.
  47. Save.
  48. Reset until you get the correct Mystery Gate on floor 24.
  49. Complete the Mystery Gate.
  50. Go to floor 26
  51. Gency out.
  52. Save.
  53. Reset until you get the correct Mystery Gate on floor 27.
  54. Complete the Mystery Gate.
  55. Enter floor 30 and kill the boss.
  56. Gency out.
  57. Add another specialist to your item.
  58. Save.
  59. Kill the boss again.
  60. Use the exit portal.
  61. Reset until you get an Innocent Town with a Dark Assembly.
  62. Pass the bill of your choice
  63. Return to town.
  64. Add a final specialist to your item.
  65. Save.
  66. Reset until you get the correct Mystery Gate.
  67. Complete the Mystery Gate.
  68. Go to floor 33.
  69. Gency out.
  70. Save.
  71. Reset until you get the correct Mystery Gate on floor 34.
  72. Complete the Mystery Gate.
  73. Go to floor 36
  74. Gency out.
  75. Save.
  76. Reset until you get the correct Mystery Gate on floor 37.
  77. Complete the Mystery Gate.
  78. Enter floor 40 and kill the boss.
  79. Gency out.
  80. Save.
  81. Kill the boss again.
  82. Use the exit portal.
  83. Return to town.
  84. Save.
  85. Reset until you get the correct Mystery Gate.
  86. Complete the Mystery Gate.
  87. Go to floor 43.
  88. Gency out.
  89. Save.
  90. Reset until you get the correct Mystery Gate on floor 44.
  91. Complete the Mystery Gate.
  92. Go to floor 46.
  93. Gency out.

  97. Enter floor 50 and kill the boss.
  98. Gency out.

  100. Kill the boss again.
  101. Use the exit portal.

  104. Reset until you get the correct Mystery Gate.

  106. Go to floor 53.
  107. Gency out.

At this point, your item should be at max stats if you equipped specialists accordingly, double killed all of the bosses, passed 3 bills in the IW dark assembly and reached level 200.
Remember, you can stop entering bonus rooms as soon as you hit 200, or you're at floor 60 with a lvl 160 weapon (you know what I mean)
