How to Delete/Import Savefiles (Windows & Linux)

Have you gone to delete your save game to start over or just to import someone else's savefiles? Have you then started the VN and realised that your old stuff is still there and left scratching your head on why? Well this tiny guide will tell you how to permantly delete your savefiles or move them so you can either start over completely or have a buddy import theirs.
This guide will cover Windows and Linux and will add MAC OS when I have actually used a MAC OS machine.

Okay, with windows it's fairly simple since everyone knows how it structures it's files but incase you don't know this section will detail it for you (there's also already a simple guide for windows).

Firstly before you do mess with the filesytem you will wanna turn off the steam cloud sync for the game to make sure it doesn't just simply download the backups.

All you have to do is right click on the game in your library click Properties > Updates and then uncheck the box under "Steam Cloud"

Now you're ready to actually delete your files, there are two locations they are stored and they are

C:\Program FIles (x86)\steam\steamapps\common\Angels with Scaly Wings/game/saves

C:\Users\Username\AppData\Roaming\RenPy

Make sure you delete the saves in both locations, including the persistance files or else the game would just use the one you didn't delete.
Also make sure you keep your own backups just incase something goes wrong or you wish to go back.
The Linux Guide
Now with linux is was kinda tricky to find out since AwSW saves slightly differently than most Renpy VNs and as with all things Linux that just complicates things. However I did suss it out and is actually pretty simple if you know where to look.

Fistly, as detailed in the Windows guide you'll wanna turn off steam cloud sync for this game just to be sure it doesn't replace the would be empty space with backups, to do this just right click on the game in your library click on Properties > Updates and uncheck the box at the bottom under "Steam Cloud"

Now that's done, it's time to delete the files (or back them up), as with windows they are stored in two different locations, those locations being:

Note: These folders may be hidden to you (they are by default), if they are, simply press CTRL+H and you will be able to view them (there are other methods, they vary from distro to file manager)

/home/user/.steam/steamapps/common/Angels with Scaly Wings/game/saves










/home/user/.renpy










Make sure you delete the files (including the persistance files) in both locations before you start the game or it will just use whatever you didn't delete.

Make sure that the steam cloud is turned off first, delete the files after you turned it off and it should be fine.

i have a problem i deleted both files before i turned down the steam cloud but now my save files are still there and my i alreddy deleted both files so how can i get rid or it and start all over again?
