Thanks for the info - the updated view will be great for optimization obsessed players like me!

How about the Shipyard consumption of Wood? Does the shipyard operation effect what ships are available for purchase? The ability to invest in or supply goods to a Shipyard would be good to know about, but I suspect it is a bit out of scope for now.

@chaney: Yes, cities consume resources according to the population they have. Also, if the city has no Coal, Wood will be used instead. In the next update we will add a view that will show the domestic consumption of each resource. If I recall correctly cities use 0.3 Wood every day for every 1,000 inhabitants. So that's 13.8 Wood/day. Coal is used ten times less, so if no Coal is present another 1.38 Wood/day will be consumed.

The city seems to consume 26 or 27 Wood/day without iron, so the Blacksmith and Arsenal should not be operating, leaving a gap of about 20 Wood/day to be accounted for by the Shipyard and any other non-explicitly represented resource consumers.

How much is the Shipyard using? It is Level 1, but doesn't have a production rate listed to the right like the other facilities.

I'm guessing the city must be consuming the bulk. Is this something that depends on the size of the city? It is a large city of 46,000. It sure is a lot of Wood, but doesn't seem totally unreasonable ... it has been hard to keep Wood-consuming facilities operating though!

I'm trying to work out the mechanics of all this. The above is excellent and seems clear, however I have a city that is consuming much more wood than indicated above.

The city has a Level 11 Paper Mill, consuming 2X6.33 wood/day, and Level 1 Shipyard, Blacksmith, and Aresenals consuming 1X???, 1X0.5810, and 1X0.2 Wood respectively.
This is just a bit over 7 Wood/day total plus whatever the Shipyard uses, assuming all facilities are operating.
