Hiigaran Probe - HomeWorld 2

I 1 samling af SuicideNeil
SuicideNeil's HomeWorld Ships
38 genstande
Beskrivelse
A small grid ship designed to emulate the look and feel of the ships from the classic game HomeWorld 2. These are not built to any specific size- they are roughly half scale, based on available details.

Details:

No mods, totally vanilla
Survival ready
Full conveyor system
Oxygen & Hydrogen systems
Hydrogen & Ion thrusters- space only, will not work in gravity
Cargo storage and Connector for refuelling and transfering cargo.

Special Features:

Cockpit is concealed inside the front of the ship for protection.
Cameras all around for good visibility during 1st person control.
Concealed thrusters- most thrusters are inside the ship, block damage is turned ON- adequate space is allowed to prevent thrusters damaging near-by blocks.
All heavy armour- this ship can take serious damage before being disabled

Probe- this ship can be flown by one person or controlled via remote with very simple controls. There are numerous cameras and an Ore Detector, making this small ship ideal for scouting missions instead of flying around a more valuable large ship.

Fun fact: I've never played any of the HomeWorld games, but it's one of things I've always liked due to the art style, so recently I decided to pay homage by building a series a ships from the classic games. I've started out with the small ships, I will move onto the larger ones later- all vanilla, no mods, all playable in survival mode if you fancy your very own Hiigaran fleet...

Don't forget to Like, Share & Follow if you enjoy my content, it keeps me motivated to build more. Cheers.

Don't forget to check out the rest of my HomeWorld ships on the workshop, I have a Collection which is updated regularly: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/workshop/filedetails/?id=1818498339

@suicideneil Granted, it's rather useless as a missile (though more useful than as a probe, since we don't have any actual sensors apart from a camera to strap on the probe) but it sure would be cool.

@jarppi- yeah, it does feel like an oversized cruise missile really, though stiucking the warhead on the outside isn't too effective unless the target isn't armed, and small grid warheads inside don't do that much damage. It does a fair bit of damage just used as a kinetic energy weapon though...

Just add a warhead on the front and it's ready to go boom.

BS-71- I did play around with that of concept, but it became a faff having enough room for components in both section, plus you end up with the rear end just drifting along and being a waste of resources. This way, it's just a plain old drone/small ship, no messing about.

One feature I'd try is making it more like the probe in Homeworld, where it can only deploy once, like maybe the back detatches afterwards?
