Introduction
Holo-Tapes are devices storing messages by humans, found within the world of The Aquatic Adventure of the Last Human. The internal messages give insight into the world as it was before all humans vanished, about their adaption to the sea life, their conflicts, and the events before the apocalypse.

A Holo-Tape device will automatically activate when being approached closely. A holographic cone emerges from the top of the device upon activation. The internal message can now be played by pressing a button (e.g. 'F' on your keyboard). Pressing the same button again will close the message. The device will deactivate when you move away from it.

There are 41 Holo-Tape notes spread throughout the world of The Aquatic Adventure of the Last Human. Gathering them all rewards you with a Steam Achievement.

If you just want to read all messages in a row without additional information, click here to go the chapter at the end of this guide.

All Holo-Tape notes are separated into chapters, each containing:
  • the message title as the chapter headline
  • the message body in a quote box
  • a brief description of the in-game location
  • a screenshot showing the Holo-Tape note in action

Use the mini-map with the ship location (little blue dot) in the top right corner of the screenshots to find the exact location of the Holo-Tape notes. Or use my Full Map Guide here on Steam - the numbers on the map correspond to the message numbers in this guide.

The messages are sorted as they are in the game resources - maybe not the ideal way but I'm not gonna change it now. The messages are mostly in random order anyway.
1. RE: We want to go back home!
The flood gate will remain closed until the water levels stabilize!
Base 702 will be your home for now.

Location:
Near by the very first locked flood gates in the beginning of the game.

2. WARNING!!
Beware of sewage pipe leaks! Corrosive sewage will greatly damage the hull of all work-shuttles! Avoid contact for your own safety!

In the tunnel leading to the Worm boss, inside the horizontal tube with the poison pipes.

3. WARNING!
More and more reports are coming in that gigantic clams are destroying our worker drones. Be cautious out there, workers!

4. Base 702
3016-01-19. This base will be our new frontier for interstellar missions.

At a cave entrance near the beginning of the game, below the ice, near by ship crash site and radio dish.

5. It's hopeless
We've been studying the stars, traveling to distant planets in an attempt to find an Earth analog, but alas, there is none. We are helplessly bound to this planet like the unborn child of a dying mother.

Location:
Directly above Crossroads area, behind some yellow seaweed in the bottom left part of the circular shaped tunnel.

6. Eternal media
The great facility of District 7 generates more than enough energy to sustain itself. It also powers most of our media databases. Basically it means that messages, like this very message, might last far longer than us

In the Crossroads area, directly left of the tunnel that leads down to the Pipe Central area, in front of a radio dish.

7. BEA location
This message has been edited for security reasons. We found the BEA hide out sir. It is ***** ... but we still don’t know who is supplying them sir.

Topmost part of Pipe Central area that connects to Crossroads area, inside a horizontal pipe in the center, guarded by two glowworms.

8. Media
There's got to be survivors in district 6 still. The Media's only focus seems to lie in the scientific success of District 7

9. Reallocation
Citizens of District 1 will be reallocated to District 4 as the water levels have destroyed much of the infrastructure. A new district is created on higher ground for all coastal refugees. We will protect the world citizens at any cost.

10. Radioactive
I was amazed by how intelligent they seemed, but nothing could have prepared me for what happened next: One of them spoke.

BEA attacks continue as a protest. From fighting the slaughter of the last cows to slaughtering the creation of new GMO species. Will the BEA Terrorists never be satisfied?

BEA attacks continue as a protest. From fighting the slaughter of the last cows to slaughtering the creation of new GMO species. Will the BEA Terrorists never be satisfied?

(curiously this is almost exactly the same message as the very near message 11)

Why are we still being attacked?! Why is the government not helping us? This city was created by them and now they use it as a rubble battleground. Hypocrites all of them!

Tomorrow’s future isn't in District 6 but in the new District 7! Apply for mining jobs in community building. We shall find all the silicon there is under our feet and build the city of the future!

Together, within darkness, our light can shimmer, and a ray of hope can emerge.

The Abyss area with the Abyss Station, at the very bottom of the map between a wall and some black smokers, hidden behind a stalagmite. Watch out for falling rocks!

Notice: Evacuation of mining tunnels need to be executed immediately. We seem to have struck an underground water reservoir. District 6 is surely in great danger to be flooded too.

I would have thought the plastic recycling plant would sustain our oil needs... at least for a while longer. Huh, I guess the age of plastic really is over. Who would have thought?

Only a couple generations ago did the people have to fight to get clean water and food. Osiris has made this Earth into paradise once again. Too bad about District 6.

We would sit in our rooms and listen to the fighting. Father was defending our Mother but the rail gun tore through the walls, the screens, the families living in the megacomplexes. They were all shattered to make room for heaven.

Life isn’t like it used to be. We’re all cramped and stuck here, in District 5, between the BEA and the Government. We shouldn’t have to take sides if we really wanted to heal the planet.

34. The Future doesn't look bright
Sooner or later we will die on this planet, all of us. How long did we really expect to survive? forever? The dinosaurs lasted 65 million years! We’ll never make it that long.

35. Doubts
I'm not sure what to think of this whole Osiris project, or why it's still needed. I mean, things are great now! We've adapted to the sub-aquatic life and society has been booming ever since the BEA's ecoterror.
