The Mission

If your like me, you like to play your steam copy rather than the origin copy. However that means that it is hard for you to play the dlc with steam since to port from origin to steam requires trickery of files and such. This way is MUCH easier.

Download the dlc officially

Since EA has done something nice and right for once, you can now download all of the DLC for ME2 for free. HOWEVER this does not mean you can access the dlc (more on that in the next section)

To get your dlc to install to your steam copy go to this link https://help.ea.com/en-us/help/dragon-age/dragon-age-origins/bioware-classics-dlc/ and scroll down to the Mass effect 2 section and download and install the dlc.

Accessing the DLC

Now while you have the dlc installed, the second you load up the game, your cerbures network will tell you the dlc can not be active. There are 2 ways to combat this. You can either purchase the dlc within origin (or your EA account) so that it activates. Or you can use the ME2 DLC unlocker. (I will not provide a link but a google search will find it).

I cant get the DLC files for ME2 from the help link. I keep getting some Security Risk warning. I think we will have to download from origin from now on

Honestly the easiest and safest way Ive found to play the dlcs is to redeem your codes in origin or at EAs website and to download them on origin which automatically put them in the steam folder for me so I didnt even have to mess with all that. Literally all I did after downloading them was sign into my EA account in the main menu and it all worked out. Also the dlc bundle goes on sale for like 5 bucks every month so you dont have to mess with bioware points and you get it all safely for not that much money. (Fuck EA for making us do this in the first place but its not to bad).
