A prison job is a good way to farm money. If you meet quota, you get the salary, otherwise the warden fires you with this note:

"Due to your sheer incompetence and inability to reach the quotas we've set, we've taken away your job. Once you pull yourself together and decide to try harder you may reapply at the job board."

-Janitor: Cleans the prison
-Laundry: Cleans outfits
-Kitchen: Refills the food trays in the canteen; Kitchen Job Member would be in kitchen during meal times.
-Library: Delivers books to other inmates.
-Mailman: Same as libary, but delivers mail instead.
-Gardening: Mostly in camp prisons; Removes weeds in courtyards. Lowest Salary if paid $10.
-Metalshop: Turns Metal into Licenses. Highest Salary
-Woodshop: Makes Unvarnished Chairs and puts them in the Furniture Container.
-Tailor: For fashionistas and is mostly in Camp prisons; Makes Clothing for the community.
-Deliveries: Places packages in the appropriate container.

Metalshop: $60
Woodshop: $55
Tailor: $20

Laundry: Wash 10 Outfits
Metalshop: Make 19 License Plates
Woodshop: Craft and put away 10 Unvarnished Chairs. It's easy to get fired with less than 30 Intellect!
Deliveries: Put 19 Boxes in the correct containers.
Kitchen: Put ? Cooked Food on the trays.
Gardening: Remove ? Weeds
Janitor: Clean ? Messes
Mailman: Deliver ? Letters
Tailor: Make ? Outfits and put them in the clothes container.
Library: Deliver 7 Books

Laundry: Useful to get a guard outfit for disguising or an inmate outfit to use with a Tub of Bleach.
Janitor: Useful to unclog toilets and make Infirmary Overalls due to plungers and tubs of bleach.
Kitchen: Perfect for giving cooked food.
Woodshop: Unlimited timber, but that would be cheating.
Metalshop: Unlimited sheets of metal for plated inmate/POW outfits, but there is a contraband detector.
Gardening: Hoes are 2/5 weapons, just like brooms.
Tailor: Tired of searching desks for socks? There is a 20% chance to get a sock when creating fashion. It is easy to get a sock mace in this job.
Deliveries: Easier ways to escape in this room (Except in HMP-Irongate).
Mailman & Library: Can enter cells of others without getting heat.

To create a vacany, disrupt someone's work process. Also, you have to be quick to take the job because the next day, the inmate will quickly get back his job unless you take it. To disrupt their work process, make them follow you or BEAT THEM UP!

-In the kitchen job, there is a utility room by the kitchen.
-It is easy to interrupt an inmate's work process in half of the jobs. It is harder in the other half, meaning that you need to get in, unless you have buddies, and if you recruit buddies, they can pass through any door, regardless of job.
-It is possible to get sent to solitary while trying to make vacancies.
-It is possible to counter solitary if you have the jobs Laundry or Janitor. If you don't do that and put a bed dummy on your bed, you get this note:

-It is possible to get sent to solitary in the metalshop job because Lisence Plates are contraband.
-In the woodshop job, there is always a contraband detector in the doorway, except in Shankton State Pen, where it's easier to smuggle Timber.
-In the deliveries job, you have the largest space to store contraband.
-It is possible to get sent to solitary in the deliveries job in HMP-Irongate because the area is patrolled in that prison.
-There are vent covers in job areas.
-If you don't have a prison job, you have free time during Work Period.
-If Josh is in the Woodshop Job, he will smuggle Timber if there is a broken wall.
-You will still have your job while in solitary, despite not meeting quota for three days.
-It is possible to get guard heat while creating a vacancy.
-Unvarnished chairs, despite being made from contraband, it is still legal.
-It is possible to get to work in the kitchen job during meal times because the one in the kitchen job is the chef.
-The one in the kitchen job is mentioned as the chef during Meal Times.
-In Center Perks, the salary is higher.
-If you leave a vacancy on your own job and take another inmate's job, they may take yours back!
-There is a kitchen in all prisons, but there's not always a job there.
-Sometimes, there's a sink in the kitchen.
-On the job board, if you click on the Library Job, you will see "Librarian" not "Library"
-In the largest maps it is difficult to meet quota in some jobs.
