Top 10 Worst Weapons in Team Fortress 2
By The Impractical Engineer
G'day. There's quite a few bad weapons in Team Fortress 2, so it was hard to condense it to one list, but I did. Disclaimer: don't get angry if your favourite weapon is on here, I'm just suggesting it's absolutely disgusting. I hope you enjoy reading this ludicrously well-written Top Ten I spent hours making.

#10 Backburner
Coming in a number 10 we have the Backburner. Now, the Backburner isn't a bad weapon overall, it's the fact that it is very situational is what makes it bad. It's well known upside, critical hits from behind, is all well and good, but getting behind is the problem. Here's the stats:

Upside:100% critical hit chance from behind

Upside: Airblasting teammates on fire restores 20 health (no one actually does this)

Downside: +150% Airblasting cost

That 150% may seem like a lot, and it is, a normal flame thrower uses 20 ammo for a single airblast, whilist the Backburner uses a whopping 50 ammo for a single blast. Assuming you have 200 ammo, which you have to begin with, you can do four airblasts with the Backburner, as opposed to the 10 on a stock flamethrower.

Airblast is quite important, it is one of the only deterants for those nasty rockets from Soldiers and Sentries as well as pipes from demomans. Airblast can also force back stickies and even destroy them, and as for the 100% critical chance from behind, the average player will see you coming, unless it's those AFK Gibus-wearing snipers on 2 Fort. This weapon is horrible alright, but is quite situational in my opinion.

#9 Phlogistinator
Alright, I don't know who the ♥♥♥♥ put this weapon in here, but it's in, and so I have to talk about it. I really despise of this foul weapon, for its awful downside which I will tell you in a minute. But if you wanna go back to the old days of pyro, hey, you can. Here's the stats:

Upside: Gain "mmmph" or whatever the ♥♥♥♥ that is, by dealing damage

Upside: Upon filling your "mmmph" meter, you gain critical hits, once you have taunted

Upside: Invulnerable whilst taunting

Downside: No airblast... No ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ airblast ...

Alright, so we went from one extreme (the Backburner), to another, we went from expensive airblast, to no ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ airblast. What? W- What!? I don't need airblast, the stickies, pipes and rocket can't hurt me at all. ♥♥♥♥ that.

And even if you fill your "mmmph" meter without getting killed by the rockets and stickies, you have a 99% chance of dieing when ever you get the critical hits. Trust me, every time I've seen a Phlogistinator Pyro get crits, he always dies within 5 seconds.
#8 The Big Earner
So what bad weapons does the spy have, not much; although the Enforcer enforces jack-didlie-♥♥♥♥, and the Red Tape Recorder makes me wanna cringe rather than make some noise, the spy's arsenal isn't so bad. Unless, this one knife, this knife which makes me curl up in horror, the Big Earner of course. Here's the stats:

Upside: +30% cloak on kill

Upside: Gain a speed boost on kill

Downside: -25% max health on wearer

It's not that the downside is bad, it's that the upsides are not that great nor effective, therefore leaving the downside to overpower, the speed boost makes you easier to be tracked, and the 30% extra cloak on a kill, is not horrible, but it's not worth the downside, you regain cloak on kill regardless of any knife. Sure, it's great if your on deaths door with no cloak, but, it's better without it.

#7 Shahanshah
Now, I was gonna put the Sydney Sleeper here, but this weapon was worse, the shanananannana (batman!) is just bad in general. I will explain why after I give the stats. It's downside is bad, it's upside is useless, so here's the stats:

Upside: +25% increase in damage when health <50% of max

Downside: -25% decrease in damage when health >50% of max

Th problem is the fact of the snipers health, your no tank, so you will die easily, and since half of 125 is 62.5, most weapons will be able to kill you by the time you pull out your Shahanshah, making it useless it close quarters combat.

#6 Brass Beast
Heavy is definitely my favourite character in sense humour; "sandvich and me gonna beat your arse". Heavy is the slowest character in the game, however, you can be slower if you want to, simply equip the Brass Beast to get a nasty surprise. Here's the stats:

Upside: +20% damage bonus

Upside: -20% damage resistance when below 50% health and spun up

Downside: 50% slower spin up time

Downside: 60% slower move speed whilst deployed

Nasty, nasty downsides, upon shooting, you move as fast as house, and the spin up time preposterously hurts peace-making hoovies from quickly pulling out their mini gun to kill the tryhard, I mean, that's why the Tomislav exists.

Your a sitting duck for snipers, spammy-ass demomans, and spies who will kill you while your moving your house (mini gun) from one sandvich spot to the other. Sure, the damage bonus is quite nice, but can't make up for the slowness of the player when firing.'

#5 Loch & Load
The drunk Scotman has mostly decent weapons, assuming he is not drunk, he can deal a lot of damage, and can be a pain to engiturtles, that's why there's airblast, but we can't deflect the pills because of the Phlogistinator. Here's the stats:

Upside: +20% damage vs buildings

Upside: +25% projectile speed

Downside: -25% clip size

Downside: -25% explosion radius

Downside: Launched bombs shatter on surfaces

This is like the direct hit, for the soldier, only its bad, the small clip size really gives you the pain in the back, the fact it shatters on surfaces is annoying, because 86.42% (that's probably right) of the time, it hits a surface. So, better loch your head between your legs 'cause the loads about to come- that sounds gay...(sorry for the lame joke xD xD).

#4 Overdose
Sometimes, I go to bed, wondering about when Valve will make something new why someone would use this weapon, to this day, I still don't know (not that I plan to). I have always used the Crusaders Crossbow, I mean, c'mon, that's the best primary for medic. Here's the stats:

Downside: -15% damage penalty

Upside?: While active, movement speed increases based on ÜberCharge percentage to a maximum of +20%

Hmm, nope. Seriously though, as the syringe gun/s is the only song source of damage (excluding your Melee) and this gun downgrades you for so, in the advantage of gaining speed. The medic was already fast, but apparently, not enough for some people. As a medic, you rely on a single damage output, and this is not good for it.

#3 Sun on a Stick
You knew this would be here, so here it is JhonnyX52 who downloaded the game today, and was disappointed to see this ♥♥♥♥ weapon. Well, so am I. This is the worst scout weapon in his arsenal. Here's the stats your dieing to hear:

Upside: 100% critical hit vs burning players

Upside: +25% fire damage resistance while deployed

Downside: -25% damage penalty

Well that went pear-shaped quickly, for a moment, I thought this was actually good, until, I saw the damage penalty. With all the W+M1 pyros, they will probably kill the opponent before you kill them. I'm just saying...

#2 Dead Ringer
The ability to feign your own death seems awesome! Unless, you count the minimal cloak time and significantly loud decloak time, I present the clutch weapon, the Dead Ringer. Many new spies use it, because it is a deterrent against them dieing, but, is it? Here's the stats:

Upside: +50% cloak regen rate

Doesn't make sense: +40% cloak duration

Downside: -50% cloak meter when Feign Death is activated

Downside: No cloak meter from ammo boxes when invisible

Downside: -35% cloak meter from ammo boxes

Remember, you take damage whilst your ringer is activated, eventually, you'll die from thinking your ringer could save you. Very situational, not reliable. The reason one of the stats does not make sense, is because it says +40% cloak duration, and then, it says -50% cloak meter when Feign Death is activated, yet, you can't activate cloak at will.

#1 Righteous Bison
If it sounds cool, looks cool, it's probably not cool. Mind you, the Righteous Bison used to be good, but now it got nerfed, so it's a useful as, well, nothing. It's also one of the four slowest firing weapons in the entire game. Here's the stats:

Downside/Upside: Does not require ammo

Upside?: Projectile penetrates enemy targets

Upside: Projectile cannot be deflected

Downside: Deals only 20% damage to buildings

So, what makes this the worst weapon in all of Team Fortress 2? The firing speed! It goes slower than when you rise after a night in the pub, so, any class, maybe even heavy, could dodge this flying ♥♥♥♥. Well done Valve for making this.

Conclusion
Disclaimer: Before you start ranting about how one of these weapons you use, is good, please refrain yourself. This is purely opinion based. So don't go "oh but when I use the Dead Ringer on Monday Afternoons, it is very effective", because I don't care.

Thank you for reading this 'rant'. I will probably make a top ten best weapons, but I don't know. Now, there's a lot of bad weapons in TF2, it'd be impossible to fit it all into one list, I know the Cleaners Carbine is bad, but I spared it, because it's the only SMG in the Snipers arsenal. Goodbye.

Back Burner, Big Earner, and Dead Ringer should not be on this list. The back burner is THE Pyro weapon if a flank heavy style is what you're going for. Big Earner allows spies to back stab and gives them multiple options (i.e escape, chain stab, combine with DR for ultra speed boost.), and the Dead Ringer literally allows you to feign death, makes you take 75% less damage, no flicker, and you take 65% less damage after activation.

Yes, these weapons are somewhat situational, but they're still viable if you use them under the right circumstances.

I can't help but hate it when it's the featured result when I search "tf2 worst weapon".

What an awful, irrelevant comment. Most of these are four years late.
