How to Assist Your Team
By daughter of 424134
You are seperated from your team, way too deep into the enemies side of the map. You have no guns, only your rear thrusters and a single gyroscope. Most people in this situation would sit and wait for the inevitable. They are ♥♥♥♥♥ and they only think about themselves, not their team. In this guide you will learn to not be a ♥♥♥♥ and support your team, even when you cannot even shoot.

Common GJL Player Minds
Before understanding how to help your team, you must first learn what other players think.

Most often, (with some exceptions) the enemy players are there for the kills; Kills = more rewards. A player will almost always attack the enemy that is the easiest to kill, and direct all their attention to that one player.

Which of these two ships would you direct your attention to?
This?

Or This?

Most would chose the first option, which is understandable. They want junk and/or xp from the easy kill.
Distraction
Now that you understand the minds of GJL Players, you can use this to your advantage. When you are a small, weaponless ship, you must distract the enemy team. Fly towards them and around them, and be as noticable as possible. They will see an easy kill, and stop focusing on the rest of your team. This allows your team to kill the enemy, and your team will be farther along to winning.
Situations
While this strategy works, it is situational, meaning there is a time and a place. If your team is in a close battle with the enemy, distract them. However, if your team just respawned and are halfway across the map, DO NOT DISTRACT! It will not distract them from anything, and is just giving them easy points.

Damn, people still play this game? Yea, this guide isn't relevant anymore, as kills aren't as good as capping

I would attack the second ship because it is a threat to my team.

Sure, if you have a full ship and are larger than ten blocks, just hit k. This is only useful when the amount of points to gain < the ammount of points your team would win from a distracted enemy ship.

not to sound rude but it also helps if you self distruct the other team would loss points if they were to kill you but i can see your point of view fellow comorad :steamhappy:

Yeah, some people don't get distracted, but it works for the majority. As for UberGauss, they make it difficult to hit small objects, and usually those who have them are smart enough to know to not bother.

Yeah, I first learned about it when I was using a rookie lvl 3 rocket box, I lost all but a thruster and started to enter the matrix.
