Each section may be a common problem that you encounter with a particular workshop item, scroll through to find the similar issue you are encountering. You may also use Ctrl+F to find using keywords.

Do comment below if you encounter an issue that is not in this guide, if there is an answer to the problem faced this guide will be updated accordingly.

This guide also applies to content creators who encounter issues with getting their stuff to work correctly

Before items/vehicles can be spawned from the chat, Cheats must be enabled.

Singleplayer:


Multiplayer (server settings):



To give the player Alicepack
To give the player 2 MREs
To give another player 10 Grizzly Sights
/i only works if Rocket is enabled from the modules or that the server has Rocket enabled

To give the player 3 Police Vests

To spawn an Otter above the player
To spawn a Taxi above another player
/v only works if Rocket is enabled from the modules or that the server has Rocket enabled

To spawn a Fire Truck above the player

Press the "Subscribe" button for the item you want to download. After pressing, the button should show as "✓Subscribed". By default, the Steam client will automatically start downloading after you subscribe the item.

Most content creators will place the spawn ID of the item here. They may also put known issues or additional instructions if needed. Sometimes the creator will also include screenshots to help showcase how it will appear ingame.

There may be times that the workshop content doesn't giving a good introduction to whatever they made. If you are able to sieve through spam comments, the comment reviews will be the next best reference on how good/bad the mod is (whether it's broken, how to use the item that sort of stuff)

However do take the reviews with a pinch of salt, as there are times when the subscribers are the ones that is at fault without knowing. The reverse is also true (The content creator being ignorant of the issues with their content, for example).

Although the content automatically download by default, there may be times that it does not (eg. while the game is running). The most ensured way to make sure that it is downloaded:

1. Unsubscribe the workshop content
   
2. Restart Steam
   
3. Subscribe again

Not many know about this, but there is a place where you can check if the workshop content is causing any errors.

• Check if you subscribed the item/vehicle
  
• If it is subscribed, check if the workshop content shows up in the folder directory
  
• Check if you have the latest version, sometimes there will be patches for the content. Outdated content that isn't auto updated on your client will not allow you to spawn in the newer/amended stuff. If the server has a outdated version, you would need to wait for the server owner to update it
  
• If the workshop content is a Curated item instead of a Ready-to-Use item, you can't own it unless it appears as part of the official game to be available for purchase

As of patch 3.17.6.0, all Unturned content requires a GUID as a way to prevent items with similar spawn IDs from conflicting
https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/games/304930/announcements/detail/650037138901564489 The affected mods applies to those that are either uploaded before the patch (19 Nov 16) or those that does not have an assigned GUID before it is uploaded.

1. Wait for the content creator to reupload/update the mod so that a GUID is assigned (unlikely the case if the mod is created more than a year ago or that the modder does not update frequently)
   
2. Manually add the following line below into all of the .dat files for the particular mod for the server client version so that it excludes from checking the object's GUID:

The ID of the object you are spawning is conflicting with either the vanilla objects or other workshop objects.

Check from the items that you have subscribed to see if there are other mods conflicting with each other. The key thing you would need to look for is whether the ID of the item/vehicle appear in multiple mods or that it is currently being used by the game.

If there are conflicting IDs between 2 mods, you would need to unsubscribe either one. In the event the mod uses an ID that the game does, sadly you can't use it.

By default workshop content does not spawn in maps, unless the mod states so.

If this guide does not give a solution to the issue that you are facing, it is either that:

• It is not written in this guide yet
  
• The issue faced needs rephrasing, search using other keywords
  
• There isn't a known solution

My verdict is that many of these errors are mostly careless mistakes from either from the user(subscribers) or the developer (content creators). It is always good to check everything from your end before stating the issue as there is a chance that you will resolve it on your own.
