If a structure isn’t available, you’re probably too low of a Rank to place it. So complete some more jobs and you’ll get there eventually.

- You must be standing on a Sidewalk to place a structure.

Workshop
You can Subscribe to Structures via Steam Workshop and these should appear in your Blueprints Menu for you to place around your town.

Jackhammer Image
The purpose of the Jackhammer is to remove Roads and Sidewalks from the world around you. You'll also be refunded half of the value of the section removed.

Instead of equipping the Jackhammer like other tools, it's available by standing on a Road or Sidewalk and pressing Q on the Keyboard (or using the Mouse to click the button in the Bottom Left).

- During Early Access if something occurs where you can't destroy a road or sidewalk piece, try stating directly in the center of the piece you'd like to remove
Design Mode
1. Structural
To design the shape of your structure, use the Mouse to move the pencil around.

You can hold the E Key to add to the structure and the Q Key to remove from it.

Holding the Spacebar (This can be reassigned through the Options Menu) will enter the Alternate state allowing you to draw in a Diamond shape instead of a Cube.

Foundation

The first level of any Structure is the Foundation. This will attempt to reach the ground below it and should fit your design onto most surfaces.

You can use the Level Selector in the Bottom Left to Increase or Decrease the Target Level. As you gain Ranks by completing jobs you'll be able to build larger structures with more Storeys.

Storeys
Every level after the foundation adds to the Area of the structure. The larger the area of a House, the more people can live there (to a maximum of 5 people).

- Storeys will attempt to fill in their interiors to avoid anyone from getting stuck inside.

Walls/Flooring

Each structure piece is comprised of a Wall (side) section and a Flooring (top) section. The Preview image on the Bottom Right of the screen displayed what you'll be placing as you plan with the pencil (You can paint over your walls and floors with the Paint tool)

Roof Placement
There's a specific Floor Texture that will signal for a roof to be built in that area called Roof Placement. Painting this onto an Storey will flag it for Roofing, and painting any other floor texture will remove the roof from that area.

Roofs will be placed on every level except for the Foundation (level 0). The system looks for Roof Placement pieces of flooring and creates a roof to fit the area. The roof will walk over the outside edge of your building, so it will cover internal gaps if there are any.

Most roof types will require a Rectangular area, and default to a Hipped style if that's not the case.

The roof styles available are:

Hipped
Mansard
Gabled
Lean To
Sawtooth
Barrel
Steeple

Parapets
Dormers
