Omschrijving
Replaces med packs with a healing field that slowly heals all friendly marines in a small AOE. Healing fields do not stack.

Currently, the field costs 2 res, lasts 15 seconds, and can heal up to 300 HP in that time.

The game is the learning cruve does. This is a very small factor barely worth mentioning.

I don't think medpacks are imbalanced in general, but they create a large skill gap between good commanders and bad ones.

It takes a couple seconds for the full medpack to take effect. I disgree that marine medpacks are imbalanced. In the few instances I don't kill them becuase of that, it's still consuming resources.

There's a such thing as the wrong type of balance change. It might be a buff in the sense it consumes less resources and can heal multiple marines at once. But in terms of staying alive, it's a nerf that could swing game outcomes to the point where it raises alien win ratios.

I agree there is no silver bullet. Have you ever almost killed a marine, only to have them be instantly healed passed your damage threshold? This at least stops that from happening.
Also the healing field, as an added feature at any cost instead of a replacement for medpacks, would only be a marine buff.

There is no silver bullet regarding playercount balanced medding, as having an aoe heal makes healing a singular marine more costly and thus making it less economically viable in lower playercount servers rather than higher playercount servers. (Due to the optimal amount of players you can heal in a given radius.) Which is why it shouldn't replace regular medpacks despite your insistance of them being too good for good commanders. Though this is just a mod and it's up to the server whether they want to include it or not.

Med packs are not very balanced in the hands of a good commander compared to a bad one. You can keep a marine alive nearly indefinitely if you can click fast enough. On top of that, med packs don't scale with player count, so a 6v6 is going to use med packs a lot differently than a 20v20.

This would be good as a more expensive supplement to medpacks. One that costs 3-5 resources and you can research from any command station for 15 resources. I could see this being used in vinalla in a very balanced and polished way, if it was implemented like this.
