Build Order
1. Build out mines, leaving a ground space for 1 or 2 missile silos (a mine can be scrapped later to make space for a silo)
2. Build workshop early, turbines can come later
3. Expand upwards to get a decent turbine efficiency. A smaller fort will be cheaper and harder to hit, but a larger fort will allow you to diversify into the larger weapons if the missiles are not enough.
4. Build two swarm silos as soon as you can. You can knock out the enemy turbines and mortars by firing both early.
5. Build upgrade centre and upgrade one of the silos.
6. Expand energy storage - allowing you to refire missiles asap.
7. Build both a sniper and an AP-sniper. It can be useful to have two snipers so you are not left unable to fire your missiles if one is taken out.
8. Before launch of missiles, use the AP-sniper to take out any vulnerable machine gun or mini-gun defences.
9. Group and launch the swarm and warhead missiles. The swarm will act as a shield around the warhead, increasing the chances of a hit.
10. During flight, use a sniper or AP-sniper to pick off any exposed defences.
Tips
  • It can take quite a while to get this strategy into full swing, so pre-emptive attacks can be effective at taking the heat off.
  • Fire a mortar or two simultaneously to increase defence difficulty.
  • Additional swarms increases protection of warhead.
  • Additional warheads increases chance and/or damage of impact.
  • Put your turbines on multiple teirs for more resilient power generation.
  • Due to limited space for mines, consider upgrading remaining mines.
  • The broad splash damage of the warhead can be effective at chipping away at heavily armored reactors, so aim as close to it as possible.
  • If you have a cannon or laser and enough energy, follow up a successful strike with one of these. The weakened structure is very fragile and the projectile or beam will penetrate deep into the fort.
  • Once you have set a missile target you are happy with you can triple click on one of the group members or select and press E to refire at the same target. This saves time and reduces the duration of the red targeting laser.
Counters
  • Taking out snipers and turbines will slow down the attacks. 2+ machine gun nests facing up diagonally with double doors to the side will allow you to thwart the attack. The red laser and launch sound will give you warning.
  • Set up defence groups with the screen and cursor in a good position then save using Ctrl+number. then tap the number 3 times to restore the group, screen and cursor position. Peppering with machine guns can take out snipers.
  • Miniguns can also be effective at taking down most of the missiles. If you coordinate them with the launch you can take out the warhead as it's coming up, then switch to machine guns to take down the remaining missiles. With multiple miniguns selected use right mouse button to fire each one in turn, increasing the duration of the projectile stream. Vulnerable to sniper attack though.
  • Lasers can take out missiles, even if you don't have enough energy for a complete blast.
  • Depending on the missiles' target and the laser position, you can take out the missiles while striking the enemy fort at the same time.

This is just one strategy among many - there will be more coming. You are entirely free to ignore these and roll your own, or combine them, of course.

mmm its a decent guide but its a little to restrictive since i would perfer to build other types of guns first etc etc
