In the years following the event now known as The Scarlett Cataclysm, the planet Neter was sent into a harsh nuclear winter. During this turbulent period, few machines were able to function in the planet's tainted atmosphere. In the chaos alliances were broken, cities were taken, and entire empires crumbled. The Twilight Guard knew it needed to gain an advantage to ensure the sucess of its interests on neter; and so, through a secret project known as Project Nemesis, the first itteration of the Pegasus-117 was created.

The Pegasus fighter line had seen many years of sucess, beloved by many who piloted them. However, as times changed and The Scarlett Cataclysm drew to a close, engineers discovered an unfortunate flaw in the Pegasus' design. The powerful OXRaM G-15Ks that were once hailed as the most reliable in the Twilight Guard, began to spontaneously fail in the oxygen ritch environment. Repairs were costly, and the pressure dynamics of these engines were not fully known, so eventually the project was abandoned as it was no longer needed. The Pegasus was soon replaced by craft such as the Nighthawk and Sidewinder, and the project faded into just another entry in the admiralty archives.

Now, with tensions rising between the Grunder corporation and the Twilight Guard; a new endeavor, Project Phoenix, has been created. It's purpose, to revive the Pegasus interceptor line for use against Grunder bombing wings...

The LJF-118 Pegasus Turbo is the third generation interceptor of the sylvian-built Pegasus line aircraft:

Although the airframe and weaponry has remained fairly similar to its sucessor, the Pegasus Turbo's twin engines have been vastly improved for acceleration and reliability.
