I am pretty happy with how the casemate came out, but the gun is absolutely a placeholder until I can get a better actuator setup done. No traverse or gun cam for this reason. I cant recess it into the tank more either or it will spaz out. Not working on that until changes are made to physics or a new more fitting actuator is added.


Russian heavy Assault gun (with of course, tank destroyer usage)


After the KV-2 ceased production, there was a gap for any self propelled guns with heavy anti fortification capability.

The Su-152 uses a modified version of the famous russian 152mm ML-20 howitzer in a casemate based on the KV-1S chassis, for both direct and indirect fire.

Like many large caliber assault guns, it did not take long for the realization that direct fired 152mm HE shells could obliterate enemy tanks with great reliability, mostly notable the tiger. (Provided you hit..).
This caused them to be used as heavy tank destroyers as well as assault guns.

The great quantity of explosive filler was known to blow off turrets, cause immense spalling, and even fracture turrets or hulls, but the vehicle was not without its downsides.


The SU-152 ceased production with the end of KV chassis production and was continued by its successor, the ISU-152, mounting the same gun on the IS series of chassis.
