Description
This mod offers two lore friendly medium cavalry units for the Empire with a unique, ambush oriented playstyle. They play alot like the Iberian factions from Rome II, with stealth, high damage and low armour. Like any low armour unit, they really don't like getting charged but with their stealth capabilities and superior speed make up for this weakness; they will become a powerful tool in the hands of any general.

Q&A

Q: Who are the hunters of Sigmar, how come I never heard of them?
A: After reading about the hunters of Sigmar and looking at their minitures (example of minitures can be found among the screencaps above), they quickly became one of my favourite orders. They are a rag-tag group of roaming vagabond knights that fanatically hunts the beastmen and all manner of chaos and mutation. They are both in lore an rules a young order and technically didn't emerge till after the storm of chaos i.e the events of Warhammer total war, but I hope we can oversee that minor detail.

Q: Why is the Armour so low?
A: The hunters of Sigmar is a group of rag-tag Vagabond knights that roam the Drakwald forest of middenland. Their lower armour rating reflects this.

Q: Will the low armour rating not be the death of them?
A: Yes, atleast in the situations where the high armur rating is nessecary like when getting charged and getting hit by missiles. They have an abnormaly high melee defense rating to make up for their lower armour.

Q: Why is their weaons strength so low?
A: It isn't. Their weapon strength is specialized into combat bonuses that are almost double the amount that is usually awarded in vanilla (Bonus vs infantry/large). Unless ou allow the tool tip over weapon strength to expand, you will not see the bonuses, only regualr damage plus armour piercing.

Q: How do I recruit them?
A: You recruit them from an imperial coaching inn (tavern level three), but you also need an armoured (smith level 2).

Q: Why recruit from a tavern and not a stable?
A: I always imagined that the troops that come from the military buildings are fresh recruits, but the knighlty orders are not fresh recruits; they always exist within the empire; it's just a question of getting them to work for you. While you can recruit the reiksguard from their fortresses and the knights of the Blazing sun from their chapter house, the Hunters of Sigmar are vagabonds and have no tactical centers; they do what vagabonds do, travel, live by the land. So what is the most likely place to find them outside of the Drakwald? Taverns ofcourse.

Q: Is this mod compatible with x?
A: It should be compatible with pretty much anything since it only adds things to the game, but I make a reservation for conflicts I don't know of. Just be aware that if you are using a rebalance mod like KAM's better battles mod, these units will have to be rebalanced since those mods change the battle entity, melee weopon and armour tables and I add my own entries. Basically, since they are balanced for the vanilla entires of those tables, any changes to those tables will either render my units over- or under powered.

Q: Is the mod save game compatible?
A: Since the mod doesn't change the start pos, yes...

Q: Can I use x resources from the mod?
A: Yes, but I would prefer if you went ahead and asked me first, but I would encourage people to try and live by my modding philosophy; I borrow things from other peoples mods as sparringly as I can, and I mostly just use them to find inspiration and solutions to my problems.

Q: How were you able to do x (like the frontal barding for example) with the textures?
A: I would love to teach you, just friend me and I'll explain it to you. Community, creativity and creation, that's the spirit of the TW modding community after all... (Yeah, I know that was cringy as hell xD)

Q: Why is this mod so bad?
A: I am very sorry you feel that way about my work, this is my first mod ever, so if you have an opinion about it, good or bad, just throw it at me. many times during the modding process, specially during the balancing, I felt like I was walking blindfolded, so learning is something I am always up for.

Lore:

In the northern edges of the Empire of Sigmar, spanning from the banks of the river Talabec to the middle mountains and great northern road lies the dark and spiteful Drakwald forest. Within the depths of this cursed wood hide the very hate for everything human; lurking in the shadows are the spawn of chaos, mutants and beasts, giant spiders and all manner of goblinoids, all set on the corruption and end of humanity.

Despite this sickness filling the forest, many a communities have chosen to reside within the forest and create a living there. Like all afflictions, many men, women and children have fallen prey to it, but also like any ordinary sickness; there is a cure.

The cure for the vile hate, corruption and filth that besiege mankind comes in the form of an order of knight hunters; trackers, vagabonds and scouts. These knights patrol the Drakwald on ever keen vigil, defending humanity from the evils within it.

I would like to thank Sebidee for his extensive unit modding tutorial as well as all other assistance from the members of the Total War Center. Without it, this mod wouldn’t exist.

You would have to enter the faction permission table and add the faction there. If you want to, I'll give you permission to create and upload a sub-mod. If you want to learn how, then I point to the linked tutorial in the mod description.
