I/ Introduction
A/ Heliborne
Heliborne is a unique PVP game about aviation and helicopters, maybe on of the greatest by his originality and gameplay based on a develloped PVP with differents weapons and endless strategy! (to complete)

B/Myself
Well, hello ^^
I'm ErKeo16, i'm an In Real Life pilot (plane) and a proud member of the FAF team (Forces Aériennes Françaises or French Air Force), I'm obviously French and I play Heliborne since December 2016, so I'm not very old in this game but I still have around 250 hours here! These 250 let me enough time to get good friends such as Adoramus or others and of course strong experience in every scenario and with every helicopter of the game (there is a lot thrust me), I know each strong or weak spot of them and I will explain to you here which one to choose and why. I play a lot in Europe Server and I go somentimes in US server but rarely, I think that i'm pretty well known of regular players of the game. To finish I would say that i'm one of the Top Players of this game with Adoramus, Meinpanda and maybe LegendarySniper.

C/The PVP
The PVP in this game is the main axis, everything else turn around the PVP despite what could say some players... To PVP you have weapons obviously but also ground forces, to quickly make you a list of the weapons you have I could say that the main armament is the cannon, it go from the 7mm to the big 30mm (very usefull against ground forces around 20/30mm), you also have the gunners, they are mainly small caliburs at the doors of your big helicopters, you can change them from auto (target unarmored ground forces) to manual, the rockets, one of my favourite armament, they have very various calibur but they can hurt very hard, thrust me! You can use them against ground forces (mainly their role) or against choppers (you need to have skill, they are slow and go down very quickly), now the interresting parts, the AA missiles, they are guided missiles working via a "lock", you basycly lock them on your target and let them do the job, they can be powerfull but also easy to avoid with smart Flares using and dodging manoeuvers, so be carefull and to finish you have the ATGM's, Anti Tank Guided Missiles, this is particular because as you can see they are meant to be used against ground forces such as armored vehicles but in this game they are also used against the helicopters themselfs! They are mouse guided missiles, they can't do the same hard turns as the AA missiles but they are very powerfull, the big advantage of them is that you have a zoom to aim, they are redoubtable weapons and if yhey are used well you can't see them comming. Now the ground forces, you ahev first of all the regular soldiers, you have by default in your helicopter, you can land them on Landing Zones (LZ) and they will jump into an AA gun to shoot enemy players, you also have armored convoys, composed of Tanks (anti vehcile and anti soldier), BTR's (anti soldiers and also AA vehicle, they will try to shot you down) and AA vehicles (very light armoured vehicle but that can shot you down really quickly). Now unregular infantry,as you can see below; there is a lot of other infantry such as Mortars, RPG's and Manpads, i'll let you discover what are their role because i'm not really a specialist even if I know how to use them (more or less). Now you are introcuded to the armament let's start with the scnearios!

II/ Tier I, Gulf of Tonkin, Vietnam
A/ Helicopters and why
The nation I recommand here is the US even if the russians can do the job, I will recommand you the UH-1B for his flares against manpads threat first of all, his twin powerfull guns to shoot enemy's down, his regular rockets to use against infantry or choppers and his infantry to cap bases, I recommand you the last version of it. I also recommand you the Scout AH Mk I, also last version, for his powerfull guns, flares, a bit of infantry but also his ATGM's and mortar spotters that can help you to shot down choppers and/or clear bases for your friendly choppers, the last chopper is your free choice, if you really don't know I recommand you the OH-13S, warning this chopper doon't have flares and don't have troops, but I like it for his very nice manoeuvrability. I don't really have a recomandation for the russians even if the Mi-2URP is a must have, any version, other russian choppers are good but not excellent, your choice!

B/ Strategy
The main point here is that the winning system work with a gauge that fill up, a base capped gives you points that will fill up the gauge, more you have bases more the gauge fill up quickly, it's the same kind of system with the Tier III Khost province, unlike every other maps. The main strategy here is to cap bases quickly and try to protect them as long as you are with a transport chopper. When you switch to Attack or Scout chopper your role will be to attack enemy bases and enemy choppers, it's very important to protect your bases but also important to destroy enemy one's. Once destroyed, bases don't give you points anymore. The priority will be to capture the farthest bases and secure them, your next objective will be to secure and cap middle base, if you hold these bases victory will be yours! You don't especially need to capture bases "A" and "B" these ones don't provide you any points and just give you patrol boats to harass enemy choppers, they don't do much damages tho.

III/ Tier II, Operation Nguyen Hue, Vietnam
A/ Helicopters and why
Once again I highly recommand the USA, with the AH-1J, it's a must have with the last version (Warning! This one cost a lot of points and then don't let you much to have other choppers, this is mainly a PVP deck, not transport, this is why team work is very important), you will have a good gun, regular rockets but AA Missiles, they are the main armament of this chopper, they one shot enemy helicopters if they don't flare, actually even if they flare the probability to hit them is very high! Be carefull, you only have 2! This mean that you need to resuply very often! The second chopper I can recommand you is the UH-1D with his last version, very powerfull guns, regular rockets, door gunners (very usefull against manpads spam :p ) and infantry. And this will be it, if you have enough point left you can add it but if you play it correctly this deck wil be enough to support your whole team and give you a good ratio! :p Russians shall be focussed on transport, it's their strong point, even if you get killed severall time don't give up, it's your main force but pleeaaaaaseeeee, avoid Mi-2URP and choppers that don't have flares, they are easy meat for the mighty sidewinders of the AH-1J! <_<

B/ Strategy
Here you'll have to hold as many bases as possible or make your convoys go to the enemy main point (1 or 9), this is how you can win exept for Tier I and III Khost as I mentionned before, as USA you'll try to kill as many enemy's as possible, don't take useless risks, stay away from enemy ground forces and stay in your territory, you don't need to play Rambo this wont work! Once again you can land some troops with the 1D but this will be the main role of your team mates, be sure to escort, support and protect them into their hard work! You can attack some bases or isolated convoys but never alone, safety first! As russians you'll have to cap as many bases as possible and destroy as many enmy ground forces as possible, you don't have the choice and don't try PVP, you'll lose!

IV/ Tier III, Badakhstan and Khost Provinces, Afghanistan
A/ Helicopters and why
For Badakhstan I recommand you Russians (they'll win anyway lol) and for Khost both can win. I recommand you the Mi-24P with the second version of it, you have some ATGM's, some nice rockets but your main force will be the guns, first of all you have the big 30mm cannon, very usefull against ground forces or against slow/stationary targets, don't use them against fast moving targets, you will waste your ammo and you only have 200 per reload, but you can use your twin 12.7mm gunpods to help you shot down moving targets, these guns hurts a lot and you have a lot of amo, useless against ground targets tho! You have some troops but it's not at all his main role. After I recommand you the Mi-28 with the last version, you have a nice 30mm gun, regular rockets but your main force is here the ATGM's, 16 of them, powerfull and quick, stay at good distance from the "no man's land" and snipe enemy choppers, be carefull not to be surrounded! The last chopper is free, you will not have a very large choice tho, you don't have a lot of points left... As USA I recommand the AH-64A last version for the nice 30mm cannon, the ATGM's like the Mi-28 but mainly for the rockets, don't spam and waste them, you only have 8, but 3 of them shall be enough to kill somebody, use them only in frontal fights or if you are sure of your aim. You are free to choose any other chopper.

B/ Strategy
For the Khost Province the strategy is the same than Tier I Tonkin map, for Badakhstan try to secure as fast as possible the point 7 and you role will be to stop the enemys of course. Help the convoys and keep an air supremacy, you shall win with that. The thing on this map is that Russia almost always win, so as US you'll need to Harass them as much as possible near their spawn to avoid them to cap bases too quickly!

V/ Tier IV, Kosovo, Balkans
A/ Helicopters and why
Here both of the nations have a pretty good chance to win, even if russia always have a better chance to take the advantage... I recommand you for the Russians the KA-52 last version, a very versatile helicopter with good gun, decent rockets, nice atgms, and nice AA missiles, you also have a mortar spotter to destroy enemy bases, I recommand you the Mi-24P in the same configuration and for the same reasons as mentionned before and finally the last one is like you want. For the USA you'll take the AH-64A once again in the same configuration and for the same reasons as mentionned before. I'll also recommand the AH-1Z for his good gun, two AA missiles and mainly your ATGM's, you don't have rockets tho so avoid as much as possible dogfights! For the last chopper i'll let you choose between the MD-500 or the OH-58D, both good choppers but really weak tho.

B/ Strategy
For the overall strategy it will be the same than for the Badakhstan Province, nothing more, nothing less, exept... Watch out ATGM's they come from nowhere and you will probably ask yourself many time how the hell did he managed to kill you but don't worry...



Conclusion and Disclaimer
Over all don't forget that the decks and strategy mentionned here are only designed for PVP purpose, so be sure to help the guys with transport chopper if they need to. Also don't forget to listen closely to te guys with a supperior rank to you, they may have more experience but have a critical mind and judge by yourself what would be nice or not.

Yes as i said play on Gen 1 and 2 US side and Gen 3 and 4 Soviet side, Thanks for your work, but i get the impression that you main adivice is play the more powerfull side on each Generation of helicopters.
