How Spawn Tables Work
Hello! I'm sure many of you people who create workshop maps have one big problem with your maps: Item spawns. It takes so long to go in and put items in one at a time. Introducing, spawn tables!

What are spawn tables?

Spawn tables are easier ways for workshop creators to place item spawns in their maps.

How do they work?

Spawn tables are a numerical ID that is used to easily create item, animal, and vehicle spawns. For now, let's only focus on the items.

How do you use spawn tables?

When you are in the "item" part of the editor, you create a new item set and there are lot's of buttons and places to fill in. Once you create a set, you should focus on the "Spawn ID" section of the menu. With spawn tables, there is no need for tiers or normal ids. In the "Spawn ID" section, this is where you put the number of the spawn table.

How do you figure out the spawn table IDs?

To figure out the spawn table IDs, you need to go back to the main menu of Unturned. You then need to click on the "Workshop" button, which is how you get to the editor in the first place. This time, do not click on the editor. Near the bottom, there is a button titled "Spawn Tables" with a % sign next to it. Once clicked, you will be brought to a menu that does not make much sense to you. What you do is put a number in the box that says "0". Let's say for example, 100. You will be brought to a page that is not one of the actual spawn tables, but more a category for a spawn table, this case being "Police." Under the "100 Police_Ammo-Roots" there is a button labeled "94 Police." This brings you to the bigger table, and you do this until you reach the main page, this one being "94 Police-Tables" This is the section where you can look at what is in each of the parts of the spawn table. Now the number that is in the "Tables" section is the number of the ID. In this case, it is 94. Now, go back to your editor.

Using Spawn Tables

Go back into your editor and create a new item table. Color and call it whatever you'd like, but put the number "94" in the "Spawn ID" section. Now, you can place the node wherever you'd like. Boom. Fully created spawn table without adding items one-by-one. It may seem complex, but in the long run, it's easier to look for the IDs in the Spawn Tables menu rather than finding each item ID.

Important Spawn IDs
Browsing spawn tables can be a pain, so I compiled a small list of spawn table IDs to help with your maps. Please note: These IDs go in the "Spawn ID" Section of your item.

@Joeblownn I haven't really looked at this in three years, though as far as I recall, the built-in spawn tables in Unturned do not need to be uploaded. They are already present in the game's files.

If you are trying to make a custom spawn table, then unfortunately I have no answer on how that is done.

I was trying to get it to work in a workshop map on a small LAN server I was hosting with friends but I couldn't get it to work.

@JoshORF I'm not sure how adding workshop items works with this. I haven't played Unturned in a while but I feel as if there is a way to add roots to a spawn table using other IDs, but I don't remember. I may try to do some testing with that later.

Is there any way we could talk via discord or such to help me add workshop items? Also do I have to add every vanilla spawning item to a new spawn table or can I just make one using the custom ID's and overlay those?

@mattzimbo I'm not 100% sure. I *think* the spawn table is included with the map considering it would be a part of the maps files, but like I said I'm not too sure. If you want to test this, make a custom spawn table and put up a test map to have one of your friends play. I could also test it for you if you want.
